People, I think an intervention is needed. Can we wait until the 8th or should we all fly to Tennessee asap??

was it the "WHEEEEEEE" that did it for you too?

i have met my match. dive may be the only person i've ever met with a worse shoe addiction than myself. it's what i'm known for amongst friends and family. we'll have a chat with her on the 8th... maybe she'll be better by then. either that, or she'll be homeless.

;) ;) ;)

(I didn't actually buy 'em. Just drooled.)

Seriously, tho...I do have a lot of shoes, but I don't have all that much closet space, so I try to keep it to a dull roar. Luckily my favorite sister in law wears my same size, so I can recycle anything I'm replacing fairly easily.

Re: closet space, I try to keep mine fairly organized so all hell doesn't break out, and every once in a awhile it gets pretty ugly...just a huge pile of shoes thrown about haphazardly. So this weekend it was time to restore order, and my son came in while I was in the middle of this project. He did a double-take and decided he wanted to know how many shoes were there...so he counted them, only to announce at the dinner table (to my husband's HORROR) "Do you know Mom has 128 pair of shoes??"

I may need to ask Zappos to wrap any new packages in a nondescript brown wrapper...much the way porn is sent through the mail!!

1. OH MY GOD NANCY! 128? My daughter has 40 some and I never stop giving her shit~!

2. Glad you know how porn arrives in the mail :) Means you are a well rounded kick ass soccer mom!

3. While moving, I discovered I HATE all my shoes. They are either comfortable or "screw me silly sexy" but none are both. That's an issue for me. I need new shoes. (oh, and in reverse freudian slips, I just typed 'I need new shows.")

Any suggestions ladies?????

Are you strictly Zappos, Nancy? Do you have a Nordstrom Rack near you? You could do some serious shoe damage there!!!
Not advocating that mind you!!!! Don't want to be an enabler of any sort

aerosoles. Actually I have no idea what the range is like, but I got the most awesome pair of street-proof-but-strappy 3.5 inch heels that don't bruise my feet or shread the what is left of my knee cartilage (it is a bitch being tall sometimes) Picked them up in a discount place in NY. Can't find them over here at all. Don't have much excuse to wear them, but damn it is fun being able to strut along in comfort.[/i]

Bollocks. So I had to go look at the aerosoles website didn't I? Red patent sling back heels on sale. In my size.

Honestly - this forum is dangerous....

I like Zappos because I humor myself about how much I'm "saving" by not paying tax. But I do enjoy the Nordstrom sales from time to time. My BIG weakness is for Donald J. Pliner shoes...they are pretty much the most comfortable heels I have ever found. I can wear a 4-inch slide or mule right out of the box and walk around the City all day without feeling like I'm gonna cry. There's a Pliner outlet store at Woodbury Commons, about a 20 minute drive for me, and I've done a lot of "saving" there over the years!!

i have a p.o. box for just that purpose. undetected purchases. i NEVER have anything delivered to my house. the hubs gets home before me every day, so there is no chance of packages going unseen. then, i throw the new boxes out and put them in old ones and label them. i'm a pretty sneaky chick that way... they just don't understand. i don't even have stuff delivered to work anymore for fear that my boss will think he's paying me too much! ah, the life of a shoe whore!

nancy, i totally agree with you about the pliner's! they are the most comfortable heel. i bought a pair last year, wore them once, and the dog (puppy at the time) had a new chew toy. FUCK! he also liked my sheepskin shoes... we gated the stairs after that episode.

Question for all you Zappos gals-- How often do you end up returning shoes because they don't fit? I would love love love to order shoes on line, but am afraid to because of the whole "can't try them on" thing. Isn't it a big pain in the ass to send them back when they don't fit?

I almost don't want the answer, because I know you're all going to say it's a piece of cake and I'm going to have to order these:

Damn. . . . Why did I ever read this thread?
