ohgodohgodohgodohgodohgodohgodohgod

Pleeeeease tell me Yahoo didn't just fuck up our chance to hear The Man speak again for the entirety of the tour by turning SC's story into "News."

Boys and girls ... are you really that surprised!?
Maybe next week they write about how even the Stewart Copeland hardcore fans think the songs were mellow and lame and you couldn't sing along because of Stings improvisation ... !?!?
If I d be a journalist I'd hang out in all those forums - one good headline per day!

Poets, priests and poiticians
Have words to thank for their positions
Words that scream for your submission
And no one's jamming their transmission
'Cos when their eloquence escapes you
Their logic ties you up and rapes you

Big Brother is watching you ...

That's exactly what I was just thinking, DM. Crossing my fingers and toes that this won't put an end to Stew's posts.

And you said it very well, phaty.

Oh, absolutely, phaty -- it's all public here obviously. (And poor journalism is pretty much a guarantee.) We ALL know that.

I was just hoping we might be able to hold out a little longer before SC might have to gag himself again.

It was a beautiful dream.

Making parts of the forum visible for members only is a question of one click!
Actually I am not really against Stewart posting all this in publlic or saying it out loud - just don't be surprised if happens what happens in our days. When they were on their last World Tour the biggest technical gadget was a digital watch and a Sony Walkman!
The Internet kills all the fun...

Over the last five days I thought people should laugh a lot more about all these topics - just to quote the best drummer in the World: "It is only music" ... !

I mean who gives a rats ass what Brits think anyway - they ride their cars on the wrong side of the road for crying out loud ... !

Headline: Stewart Copeland's Critique of Band Sets Off International Incident Between Germany and UK.

When asked to comment, Mr. Copeland said, "GONNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGggggggggggggg!!!!"

Well, the snafu is this: Making posts read-only for members would still not guarantee that people signing up for the forum are not journalists. There'd really be no way for Gio and company to know.

The real problem is that this "journalist" obviously doesn't get Stewart's sense of humor...or does, and doesn't care, because he's found a "scoop."

I think Dean Goodman owes us an explanation, and owes Stewart an apology. His comments were obviously not given on the record. What's worse is that this story is now on the Reuters wire service, being spread across the planet as we speak...I've been digging for an email address so some of us could express our displeasure to Mr. Goodman directly, but without much luck.

Perhaps we could ask Gio to come up with a policy for folks taking things from the forum without permission. I notice this Goodman didn't even link to Stewart's site, just mentioned it.

Yes, I agree with you, Phaty
My concern was, as you said, this kind of twist would happen again & again....
But, okay let us expect Stewart's generosity saying " Never mind /Don't care ! "

I think we worked all those conflicts out over the last few decades - plus once a year our football (soccer!) hooligans meet and show the world how stupid we really are.

Now if only we had a good Polo Team that would be a nice battlefield!
