According to a blogspot...

Police Tour 2007 Rehearsals in Vancouver Give Setlist Hints

The Police are currently rehearsing in Vancouver Canada before embarking on their much anticipated 2007 world tour. The band has been keeping everyone guessing by throwing some more obscure titles into the mix such as Tea in The Sahara and Rehumanize Yourself. There has been speculation in some quarters that Sting might try to squeeze some of his solo tunes into the shows but this seems unlikely.

Here's the songs they have been working on and will likely comprise the setlists for the upcoming tour.

When The World Is Running Down (from Zenyatta Mondatta, 1980)
Message in a Bottle (from Regatta D'Blanc, 1979)
Driven To Tears (from Zenyatta Mondatta, 1980)
Walking On The Moon (from Regatta D'Blanc, 1979)
Synchronicity II (from Synchronicity, 1983)
Don't Stand So Close To Me (from Zenyatta Mondatta, 1980)
Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic (from Ghost In The Machine, 1981)
Walking In Your Footsteps (from Synchronicity, 1983)
Tea In The Sahara (from Synchronicity, 1983)
Deathwish (from Regatta D'Blanc, 1979)
Demolition Man (from Ghost In The Machine, 1981)
De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da (from Zenyatta Mondatta, 1980)
Murder By Numbers (from Synchronicity, 1983)
Spirits In The Material World (from Ghost In The Machine, 1981)
Wrapped Around Your Finger (from Synchronicity, 1983)
Invisible Sun (from Ghost In The Machine, 1981)
The Bed's Too Big Without You (from Regatta D'Blanc, 1979)
One World (from Ghost In The Machine, 1981)
Bring On The Night (from Regatta D'Blanc, 1979)
King Of Pain (from Synchronicity, 1983)
Shadows In The Rain (from Zenyatta Mondatta, 1980)
Roxanne (from Outlandos D'Amour, 1978)
So Lonely (from Outlandos D'Amour, 1978)
Next To You (from Outlandos D'Amour, 1978)
Can't Stand Losing You (from Outlandos D'Amour, 1978)
Rehumanize Yourself (from Ghost In The Machine, 1981)

In other sources Andy Summers talk about playing hits and not obscure songs... also mentioned the guitar chords and drum beats changed and make it more powerfull and modern... ( read It on Stingus.net)

That would be a great set list. Just a few missing:

Every Breath you Take - Would they leave this off?!
Voices Inside My Head - To go with World Is Running Down
Truth Hits Everybody - Andy said they've rehearsed it but who knows!

Isn't that the same list that was photographed for the Sunday Times (UK) article? I don't think that was final.

EDIT - Yep...that blog post is from March.

Just as a note, it looks like this article was from March 6th and was based upon that setlist that the Police were rehearsing in Vancouver before the Whisky show...(you can see that it's the exact same one, ya know the list with the notes and the sheet music open to Rehumanize Yourself from way back)...as seen here:

http://www.thepolicetour.com/members/co ... n#msg20860

I don't think that rehearsal list would necessarily be what they do on this tour...I thought it to be just a starting point for them to get from "high school band"...haha ya right...to "burning down the world" but given the stated emphasis on hits, it's not like there's all too much room for that much variance...most of those on there are the standards...but the more recent reports seem to suggest the things they've worked up that would differ from here...just my 2c

I think the most important is the last paragraph posted on www.stingus.net about what Andy told to press, althought when I search the sources is UPI I wont find the same at online press:

Thu May 10 2007 | THE POLICE REHEARSING IN VANCOUVER

The Police has made North Vancouver their base to rehearse and prepare for the launch of their world tour. Stewart Copeland, Sting and Andy Summers will spend the next 20 days rehearsing at the rec centre on the Squamish First Nation reserve in North Vancouver.

The Police plan to play the hits when the trio opens the group's first tour since 1984 this month. "We've got about a two-hour show lined up of famous songs, basically," guitarist Andy Summers said. "We're not doing anything really obscure. There's so much good material that is all kind of world-famous, and we can have a lot of fun playing it." Summers also says the group will be on the road into 2008.

The Police are using their time in rehearsals to really get into and update some of their songs. Guitarist Andy Summers told that the group is ripping some songs apart and reinventing them, with the goal being to make everything sound fresh: "The task is to, like, take these songs and, and... I say revitalize -- I don't know, I think they're pretty vital songs, but I think what we have to do is get into really being a band together. We know the songs, obviously, but we -- we sort of take them as if we don't know them and, and, and rebuild them until, at least to our ears, they sound completely powerful, and modern, and are cutting it on all levels."

The updates include key changes on some songs, as well as different drum rhythms and guitar parts.

This is all good. But, I'd still be happy with what someone said on another post, Stewart playing a triangle and Sting and Andy farting into a mic.

Well my favorite songs are on there, all of them, so I'm content. Hah.

"Invisible Sun" and "Everything She Does Is Magic" makes me inordinately happy.

Don't care. They can't please everyone. I would like some of the stuff we never hear, but really, I never thought I'd ever hear any of it live so I'm going to keep my mouth shut and just enjoy it!

Completely agree with you both. I didn't say I liked it! I just know we're stuck with it on the set list whether you like it or not. LOL!
