As Andy would say too fast tempo.

Simon says terrible performance.

I liked Gwen Stefani pointing out "where's the drummer? Where's Stewart Copeland?" in the coaching session.

Just goes to prove that Police stuff ain't to be messed with unless you know what you're doing...

Sockii, yeah I caught that. Big props to the man.

At least that guy who sang EBYT was better.

Simon says good :D

Yeah, Phil's creepy enough that he could carry off EBYT

:D

I guess this was as close as they could manage to an all-Police night this year.

(So are we coming out of the A.I. closet here tonight...?)

Sockii, I guess we are coming out of the AI closet.

At least it might get the guys some exposure to the younger generation.

Now I sound like an old codger.

I watched the second season of AI and just couldn't take it anymore. In stranger news, I actually watched the show where they picked the new Danny and Sandy for the new broadway cast of Grease. It was awful but I watched it for my daughter who is a Grease junkie. Of course the whole show was just a big commercial for the broadway production, including flashing the Ticketwracket number across the bottom of the screen. Guess who will be going to that production? I can't buy the tickets though until the Police "storm" blows over with the hubby.
yo!!

Let's face it- covering The Police isn't an easy task.
The AI band is filled with great musicians I'm sure, but it
was just too sterile for my taste. It's more than just the notes- it's the feel.

I will now step off my soap box.

I agree Bella, my little brain was also injured.

On a side note -Back in '92 I was working at a record store in Boston-
we played "Puzzle" non-stop!! Great band.

I almost tuned in just to see Gwen Stefani. Boy am I glad I didn't now. I wished I'd seen the Stewart shout-out though.

Boy you people have tough ears!

I understand the "perverse" reasons for watching that evil show.

It is so painful on the ears...the talking...the..uh..singing...the comments. Not including the Police songs, what the (bleep) are some of these songs they have sung in the past? I read the articles in the paper and I can't believe it.

I think the show was created by the devil.

Ever wonder why they don't have a "songwriters" Idol? Lots of people can sing...but if new talent isn't writing then what are these pop singers gonna sing? Police songs it seems.

I guess it helps Lionel Richie though.

Cheers - Simon.
