[quote="Dietmar"]Georgygirl, your photos are not on the PoliceWiki or on the PoliceWiki's facebook page, so I really don't know what you're referring to. However I'd like to show a photo / a ticket for the Monterrey pages! So please say Yes or No to that - any answer is fine by me.

Hey all,
This is actually sockii posting under vespapod's account - my own account seems to be completely borked and I am unable to login at all here currently (hence my complete absence for a long time).
I just want to re-iterate what Dietmar has said here. As co-administrator, host and current owner of the PoliceWiki site, it has absolutely been our policy since DAY ONE that we do NOT use individuals' photographs on the Wiki without their expressed permission. (The ONLY exception to this policy is album cover art, book covers, magazine covers, etc, which are used in low-res copies under Fair Use for educational purposes.) Dietmar, Kellie and I worked for months before even opening the site to the public on our policies so it is something we take very seriously.
I also take it very seriously if someone lobs around accusations otherwise in public, which could damage the Wiki's reputation. Dietmar in particular has put so much effort into securing the rights for images on the site, only often to find THOSE images stolen and used elsewhere (and we could certainly name names as to who has been responsible for that.)
Now, Louise Lane, if you want to show me an actual link to an actual one of your photographs, ON the PoliceWiki, that is being used without your permission? I'd be more than happy to check it out and remove the image if that is the case. So please provide some direct evidence of what you're talking about, because frankly I don't understand it from what you've posted here. I advise you to read the Wiki's general disclaimer and follow the instructions there if you feel any content ON THE ACTUAL WIKI is in violation of copyright.
http://www.policefans.org/Police_wiki/i ... disclaimerAnd if it's something that's happened on Facebook? You have to deal with it ON Facebook, via their abuse/infringement reporting methods. That has nothing to do with the Wiki whatsoever, even though we have a fan page there for sharing interesting updates and information. Other people are allowed to post on the Wiki Facebook wall besides us administrators, so it is very possible someone ELSE posted something of yours there...so deal with that person, and that incident, directly.
