OT: Neal Peart-Police Fan!

My boyfriend and I went to see "Behind the Lighted Stage"/Rush documentary last night-great film. In the portion about musical changes Rush incorporated during the 80's, Neal spoke about which of the 'New Wave' bands they enjoyed-and The Police were listed right after Talking Heads!
That ALMOST made up for giving up the HotHedd/Claypoole show the same evening !!
If any of y'all get a chance to see this documentary, take it. Very well done. I hope that Sting can take time out from his less-than-'Zilla tour to do so himself.........

He really is, this documentary showcases this well. Also, my boyfriend has already pre-ordered his copy of the DVD, which he says will be released the beginning of July 2010!
Getty is no slouch on the bass, either (he's a "....mother***** on bass!" to steal Stewart's words)-definitely gives Sting a run for his money and then some !

Stayed up past my bedtime watching about half of it on Tivo(it ran here on VH1) before I fell asleep.

I just finished watching this! Wow! Highly recommend it. I got it from Netflix. It made me long for another reunion tour, alas.

Just finished watching it... WOW! I forgot how much I liked these guys. There is some great early footage of them. I had heard about Neil's motorcycle trips, but I'm really surprised they let him travel like that on tour. He said the guys have no idea where he is between gigs! What if he ends up road pizza? How will they know? That's got to be an insurance nightmare. Geeze! I think I need to read his books now.

When on tour, Neil travels with a bit of a crew. His busdriver follows behind.
Brutus is his wingman. If there was an accident Al and Ged would know pretty quick.
