The Green Flag: Part III
Surprises in Buffalo

Before the Buffalo concert, there was one in Ottawa. The flag came from Ottawa with a fan and Madame received it in Toronto. The flag smelled a bit bad but it had travelled a lot. It had followed the Police tour everywhere. It went to South America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Hawaii. Then it returned to North America. Madame looked at the signatures on the back of the flag. There were a lot. Happily, she added her name to the others.
The day of the concert arrived. That morning, Madame was a little nervous. Her seat was not very close to the stage. "Is Stewart going to see the flag?" she thought anxiously.
Before leaving for Buffalo, she received an e-mail from Kellie:
I bought tickets for the Buffalo concert. I am going to attend it with our friends Betsy and Nancyrose. We can meet at the concert. And there is another big surprise for you tonight. See you soon.
Wow! Madame was excited. She had never met these three friends, but they spoke together often on the Internet.
Madame and the flag went to Buffalo by car. Before the concert she went in the arena with the flag in a little green back pack. She ran toward the stage to find her friends. Their seats were excellent, front row, centre. Madame recognized the three women because she had seen their photos. But there was another woman with them.
Kellie said to Madame, "Here's the first surprise. This is Kate, our British friend. She came from London to watch the concert with us." Madame was astonished. Kate was one of her very good friends on the Internet.
"But there is another surprise," said Nancyrose. "I have this ticket for you." She gave Madame a ticket. It was for seat in the front row centre next to them. Madame almost fell down. What a big surprise.
"Yes!" Kate cried. "We are going to watch the concert from the best seats in the arena with the flag and our international friends. This show is going to be fantastic!"

Félicitations, Lady, c'est très bien ! Not only because of your impressive level in french language, but also because of the story. Wow!

Je serai à Marseille mardi soir pour voir Police. Tell me if you want a french compte-rendu de l'événement.

PS : I checked the other day, the crêperie à la Rotonde in Aix still exists !!! But there is no more casino: now we have a centre commercial with a small but quite interesting magasin Fnac (do you know them?).

Amitiés,
Philippe.

Haha. Merveilleux, mais très étrange. I feel like I've fallen into some weird French children's book universe.

But come on, llady -- how much cooler would Madame look jumping the seats like she did?!?

Thanks for the latest, especially while you're swamped. I can't wait to see what happens next!
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

What a great story. And a great idea to use it for a french lesson.
What did the kids say about it? Did the know it was based on true events?

HAHAHAHA. Bets, if you remember me saying <<Je te présente Kate, notre amie britannique. Elle est venue de Londres pour regarder le concert avec nous>>, then you were drunk as une mouffette.

ETA: And yet <<Nous allons regarder le concert des meilleures places de l’arène avec le drapeau et nos amies internationales. Ce spectacle va être fantastique!>> does sound an awful lot like Kate.

Geez guys. Thanks. Teacher of the year? Naw, maybe obsessive-complusive of the year. Though, I have to say that I love when nancyrose says anything positive (like as if she has *ever* says anything negative) because her avi makes me feel like Stewart is always in whole hearted agreement. It looks like he's raising his hand to give me his vote too.

What do you think the "Madame est presque tombée" (Madame almost fell down.) stuff was about? It wasn't just falling down with surprise. That's a veiled reference to what happened to me when they turned off the lights just before the first encore and I was still in mid-chair-jump.

Mouffette = skunk :-)

And that sounds nothing like me at all DM. I never get the adjectival endings right.

Yay Kimmy! Did you throw a baguette at anyone in MC?
