The Green Flag: Part III
Surprises in Buffalo
Before the Buffalo concert, there was one in Ottawa. The flag came from Ottawa with a fan and Madame received it in Toronto. The flag smelled a bit bad but it had travelled a lot. It had followed the Police tour everywhere. It went to South America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Hawaii. Then it returned to North America. Madame looked at the signatures on the back of the flag. There were a lot. Happily, she added her name to the others.
The day of the concert arrived. That morning, Madame was a little nervous. Her seat was not very close to the stage. "Is Stewart going to see the flag?" she thought anxiously.
Before leaving for Buffalo, she received an e-mail from Kellie:
I bought tickets for the Buffalo concert. I am going to attend it with our friends Betsy and Nancyrose. We can meet at the concert. And there is another big surprise for you tonight. See you soon.
Wow! Madame was excited. She had never met these three friends, but they spoke together often on the Internet.
Madame and the flag went to Buffalo by car. Before the concert she went in the arena with the flag in a little green back pack. She ran toward the stage to find her friends. Their seats were excellent, front row, centre. Madame recognized the three women because she had seen their photos. But there was another woman with them.
Kellie said to Madame, "Here's the first surprise. This is Kate, our British friend. She came from London to watch the concert with us." Madame was astonished. Kate was one of her very good friends on the Internet.
"But there is another surprise," said Nancyrose. "I have this ticket for you." She gave Madame a ticket. It was for seat in the front row centre next to them. Madame almost fell down. What a big surprise.
"Yes!" Kate cried. "We are going to watch the concert from the best seats in the arena with the flag and our international friends. This show is going to be fantastic!"
