No Clue Help me

Well, just the same, a lot of the suspicious or critical views are form those who haven't seen them yet, so dunno...

Except I *have* seen them twice already and will-be-three-times by next week (!!!) and I thought they bloody well rocked, seeing them play live together was unbelievable, and I am going to as many shows as I can...not only to see what about the songs and set list change, or with how the newer renditions are (already) evolving and will continue to do so, but also for the little things that change and occur between them like last night's reported Sting/Stewart show before King of Pain, with Sting gently reminding Stewart that he starts off at the perc. rack rather than the kit by hitting Stews tom while saying "You...Start....This...One!" <fits of laughter>

How's the music going, SkaMan?...I loved your myspace link from a while back!

Ska man well said!!!!! I have been to their concert the first one!! I was a "police concert virgin" till then. To be in the same room with them feeling their sensual music vibrate though my body. The banging of the drums the throbbing of the bass and the licking of the guitar they plucked my virginity and caressed my soul!!!! their records were there for me when ever I needed them but records can't deliver what a concert can!

I loved "Truth Hits Everybody" "Next to You" "Don't Stand So Close to Me" granted Murder by number was a bit slow but I need that too.

My god!!!! I want it again and a again and a again ahhhh....... oh, they are soo good!!

Very well said Ska man. I agree 100%. I can't wait for the shows. And, well, well, well, I read you're looking for a bass player (takes, loud, obnoxious deep breath) I just happen to know a thing or two about the bass. For your pleasure, here's my resume, and complete songlist that I can perform with a few months notice...

I can play ALL of So Lonely, (except for the improve part, after the guitar solo)

King of Pain I can do with my eyes closed, well one of them needs to stay open and look down at my hands. Actually, my strength in that song lies in the part that starts after, always, always, always be, king of pain.

Man in a Suitcase?? puuuleese. You only wish you could hear me do it. And I'm damn good, until the lyrics start. Singing and playing at the same time is not my strong point. I'll bet you're taking notes now. Not many people have the integrity to be honest in a resume like I do. And lastly...

Spirits, well what can I say (as my head bobs back and forth) I played it for Sting himself. The rendition of the chorus (all I know) almost brought tears to my eyes, I was that good. The part that I know, ba dum, ba dum, ba dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb dumb. All Sting could do was turn away, and whisper.... wow. I think we all know what that means.

I know you're impressed, as I would be. It's ok, don't respond, take a laxative, and sleep on it. And tomorrow, have your people call my people. I'll need a fairly large advance to join the group btw.

Now, in all seriousness. Post when the band is gonna play. I'd love to go and post a writeup on this board. If you read this far, thanks for the indulgance. If in any way, you thought I was serious in this post, well... haha, the jokes on you. I do know all those parts though, so call me, hahah

I agree with ska man. Very well put.

I am sure there may be something at the show that will make me go "woah, that was wierd" or "ok that's different" but I am going to be in such a positive vibe welcoming The Poilce into my 'open' ears that I don't think it will matter. With a little jazz background myself, I can handle hearing distinct changes, as long as the main song structure is in tact for the most part. I am sure most of it will work. Perhaps a few minor things won't come off as successful, but hills and valleys are ideal for an entertaining musical performance.
If they hadn't mucked about with songs live we would never have had (the song) Regatta De Blanc... imagine that! Other than that I am staying out of this argument until I've had my turn on the live ride!
BINGO! That song is the essence of this band and its style. True musicianship. I am humbled every time I hear a bootleg. I fully expect the songs to evolve as they play them.

Well said Ska!

I never had the pleasure of seeing them live...missed out on the Synch tour. I have been to many concerts in my life but never tried for the best seats or went to a show more than once in the same tour. Well this year i'm living the dream...going to 3 shows in Boston...1 with my daughter and 2 solo (first time doing that as well). From what i've heard so far from the FC bootleg I couldn't resist downloading they sound awesome. I love that they're mixing it up and to me it's like you are getting new music from the boys even though they're not new songs. I love how Wrapped starts...Sting sounds great...the stage and the lighting is pretty simple...it's all about the POLICE!

49 days until Fenway :D

Rush is the most boring band live...they sound so mechanical it put me to sleep.
and if sometimes i can't seem to talk you know this blackborad lacks a piece of chalk
