Hey guys, because Sockii is awesome, she has gone to some trouble to post the DVD files of JTTOU she got from a friend in the UK. I've got my grubby mitts on them and have determined it'd be possible to manufacture some DVDs - which would be the easiest way to get the files to you if'n anyone's interested. (DVD files are around 4 GIGS - not megs - and it'd both overload Sock's server and take forever if you guys tried to download 'em. Also, you have to manipulate them slightly to get 'em to play properly on a computer or to burn to DVD.)
Anyone who's seen Stewart's JTTOU entry over in "Dinner Tales" is familiar with the basics of the show, but I have to say, it's hilarious! It's pretty cheesy, but in a cute way - the contestants are singing chestnuts like "We've Got Tonight," as originally recorded by Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton...The show has a little different feel than "American Idol," or one of the U.S. blockbusters of that type...slightly different production values, slightly more human scale, if that makes sense.
I haven't watched all the episodes yet, but I'm really not getting why Stewart's called "Hard Place" on this program...in the material I've seen so far, he's very charming. I'll grant you, mild snark here and there, but mostly he's being kind-hearted and encouraging to these folks. (He's right, his fellow judge CeCe really needs a recording contract...she's lovely and very polished.)
A little bird told me there may also be a chance of getting copies of the upcoming round two of JTTOU...Stewart's mentioned it's going to air in January of '07.
Anyway, how should we do this? I'll try to copy/mail to anyone who wants to see this, but if we've got more than about five people who want 'em I may need help from anyone who can copy DVDs (I'll mail you the two DVDs, you can then help me copy and mail out to whomever.)
As always, no pay is required (or will be accepted outside basic postage costs), since we're doing this out of admiration for Stewart's work, not to make a buck.
Post here if you want a copy so I can get an idea of how many are needed. Thanks! - DotD
