In case you haven't heard the news, google bought out youtube this week, and word is that they're going to be clamping down on copyright infringing videos on the site as a result (you knew it had to happen sometime).

So anyway, if there are some Police clips there that you really enjoyed, save 'em while you can, because who knows how long until they're pulled. I've found TubeSock is a great Mac application for doing this.

I figured this would happen eventually. Now all the suits are seeing dollar signs and how to use the site for their profit. :?

I mean, it's not like I'd ever not buy a DVD or something after watching a crappy quality .flv file on youtube...

Yeah, I agree. The quality is ridicilously crappy.
Even if my original file is HQ it results in that.
Well, these big shots think that people make no money or something and download absolutely everything they need instead of buying it,
just like you mentioned.
Oh well. (sigh)

I wouldnt worry about it guys - remember what happened with Napster?

Once google ruins youtube, someone else will start a sight that replicates what youtube does now and the herd will run in that direction...

gotta love the internet... :D

Yes, there are a number of different applications or browser extensions out there to do this. I use TubeSock for Mac; I'm not sure what PC apps are available.

did they buy xtube as well? ehehehe....
Just kidding, just kidding....

I love Youtube, you can have access to all those great videos of the Eighties (???, ok I like them, so what?), and so many funny and stupid videos like Diet Coke and Mentos rocket experiment (who is as stupid as me to try this one out???)

By the way, I'm learning how to put up a video on youtube as I want to upload some of my videos with Andy Summers (like cooking on Italian tv, and curious stuff like that...).
It'll take me some time but I will do this very soon (there is no infringments of rights as most of those videos are from my own private videocamera).
