What a great evening...Klark Kent at last!!

Totally forgot about "Yo Ho Ho!" That song ROCKS! I love the goofy Stewart-on Helium backing vocals, like "On Any Other Day." The first time I heard that tune was on some college station. I flipped out. Took me years to track down that CD. It's my favorite part of Christmas. There are some other really good tracks on it as well by Squeeze, Debbie Holland, Wall of Voodoo, Timbuk 3 and Dred Zepplin.

I had actually heard at some point from a record dealer that the 7" black vinyl is more rare - i guess the record plant made a mistake during production and switched to green vinyl. Thus the black version, which I have, is most rare.

Whaaat? So the KK record was originally to have been black?

Maybe that's something Stewart can confirm or deny if he runs through and feels like talking about it...

I believe it's the other way around - The album was supposed to have been printed in green vinyl and a number of copies were mistakenly printed in black. This is what it says in The Police: A Visual Documentary by Miles. The black copies are the collectors items, although they seemed to be more available in the record shops at the time.

I finally got my green copy when the guitarist of my previous band snagged it for me from a buddy of his.

I will not rest until I have obtained the CD, though.

learn to read:

that was about the 7" single!

Don't Care was first released on KRYPTONE records
then A&M immediately repressed it with a different label

both were on green vinyl

only a few (of each pressing) were pressed on black vinyl

here are pictures of the green vinyl versions
and of the black Kryptone version

I stand corrected. It's been a few years since I looked at the book - like, about twenty.

Still, no one likes a wiseguy, Dietmar. One day, you'll have a "senior moment."
