anyone else reading Andy's book right now ?

Postby BongoBoy on 10 Oct 2006 18:29

So today I got Andy's new book "One Train Later" and I am just starting it and I love it. This is a great read, real insight into a REAL musical guitartist.

Funny thing, this Friday Andy will be at this book store for a signing WOW!

My father is in the hospital and I have to go talk with him and see if it's disrespectful to not visit him that night and go. I really want to (obviously) but I am not sure if it's the right thing to do.

Funny how things happen. sigh, I'm so bummed out.

Anyway, I can really see why Stewart Loves Andy so much, he loves his music.

BUY Andy's book, it is well written.

Cheers.

I'm about to order it off Amazon, have to get my Dad to do it, he wouldn't do it last night, so *sigh* I'll try again tonight.

If I order one more thing (make it over $25), I get free shipping.

Anyone have something to recomend?

Bongo - where'd you find the book? I looked at Chapters today in Mississauga & it was out of stock. Are you going to the book signing on Friday?
I'm sure I'll be able to get it there, but had hoped to have started reading it already.
Tks. 8)
If I'm holding a beer, some of it is probably going to get on him, you know?

Andy's in Chicago this week. I really wanted to go but have to do some advanced dive training...I'll probably go buy the book tomorrow. Meant to today but was in the water most of the day...which would have made the pages somewhat difficult to turn. ;)
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!

Guess what was waiting for me when I got off work?

A Pony? No! God I love it when I get something I want and don't have to pay for it. 8)

How far in are you guys?

I've only made it to chapter six so far, but love it.

When some guy says "heavy man", does heavy mean cool?

'I sit in a doctor's office in Earls Court one afternoon and read about the dangerous new drug that is now epedemic in the United States, how it's ruining the minds and lives of young people. I can't wait to try it."

Fucking lol.

My signed copy just came in!

But he signed it on a sticker, he probably never even touched the book.

Now it's not as cool. He was suposed to sign it in sharpy ON the book.

got it two days ago (amazon) and am about four or five chapters in. definitely an enjoyable and unpretentious read.

the thing that's struck me the most so far, is the way he obsessed over jazz records when he first started playing, slowing them down and trying to figure out every little lick. it's the exact same way i obsessed over the guitar playing on police records when i was a teenager.

I got mine today too.
I did not expect it, as I thought I was not in the first 50 to send a message...

I wasan't in the first 50 either. But I think allot of people had signed up before this was offered, and since we sent our address' in and the other earlier people didn't, we got them!

Do they normally do it with stickers?

I just got my signed copy today. I think I was in the early fifties (maybe #52) to join Andy's myspace friends list (hopefully not one of the ones he says he likes to eat in the Police song Friends).
