I decided at the last minute to try and see them in DC last night, but the show sol d out!!!! Even though I was bummed not to see them (but was kinda glad since I've been trying not to get to the flu and strepthroat going around and needed a good night's sleep), it's great to see that their show was sold out!

Just read over at tmz.com that the rest of the Van Halen tour was cancelled. Supposedly Eddie is having 'issues'. :?

Here the story on VH
http://www.tmz.com/2008/03/02/van-halen-tour-unhinged/

I did not think Eddie was really up to par this tour, though that is based solely on DVD viewing.

Well, I still think it's a shame - I thought he looked/sounded great in Philly, but those were only the 2nd or 3rd shows of the tour. So it could have taken its toll on him by this point, so I'm glad I saw them when I did.

Anyway, here are my goodies from last night...

Bon Jovi "Runaway" video:

I scored my ticket last minute, under face, thanks to craigslist. Definitely worth it! I wouldn't call myself a big Jovi follower or anything but the music is fun and they put on a class performance. Jon's a great frontman and I found myself surprisingly impressed with David Bryan--no one really gives him any props and he really is excellent on the keys (and has a great voice too).

It was Jon's birthday too so there was definitely a high energy in the crowd for that, lots of signs and birthday banners for him, even a huge one complete with lights!

Also, I loved their video projection screens. Unlike the static, unmoving ones at the Police indoor shows, these were on a spiral track that moved up and down and around, even expanded for lighting effects at times instead of just video projection. Very cool, and really ensured that no matter where you were, you have a great view.

Example why VH tour is cancelled:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0f2N5ae3wU

That's too bad as they were supposed to headline Tiger Wood's annual charity concert here in Vegas. There has been no official announcement in Vegas. Maybe they could at least play the charity event.

Eddie was in great form when I saw Van Halen in Denver. I'm glad I got to see VH before the troubles started.

Yeah, I heard that the other day driving to work. I stomped off stage and threw his guitar. They were supposed to play here Sunday night. Thank God I didn't buy a ticket. I was going to wait and see what was around at the last minute. That paid off. It's too bad, really. Eddie's a spectacular guitarist when he's on. What ever.

Gees, people I don't know any of these bands. I've heard of the Foos, of course, but I can't name any of their songs. <insert gasp here> And I'm not *that* old. I's just stuuuuck, stuck in the 70's. Stuuuuck, stuck in the 70's. (& 80's) :D

Seriously, though, it's very interesting how we've got such different tastes , but all love The Boys.

Hey, Mrs. Gradenko, how'd you get into Steve Miller? I'd love to see him.
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!
