He could always make "Rhythmatist 2." Seriously. He knows a million Hollywood people, right? He's got great moviemaking chops.
So why not recruit a few new guitarists, or the Gizmo guys...have this one be set somewhere in rural South America?
It's always hazardous, though, setting up a credible plotline. I guess I'm thinking about "Hard Day's Night," here, and seems like straight-up music documentaries often don't do well. Maybe a documentary about rural artists, interspersed with Stewart playing with 'em...?
Hey, I've got a better idea: Did he do any ES:TPIO style footage for any of the Gizmo shows? Why not tell the tale of why Stewart went to Italy? It's not a very conventional choice, for rock musicians. Why did he go there and learn a lot of 'heavy' (his word) folk songs? There's bound to be some kind of compelling backstory.
