Just got tickets for The New Pornographers & Okkervil River, 20 April, here in Chicago.

Oh, and we're going to Adrian Belew in early March also; that's more for my husband than me (he's a huge Belew fan, and he's had the patience of a saint with all of my Stewart and Police wanderings ...), but I'm looking forward to it.
I would HIGHLY recommend seeing Belew if he plays in your area. He is backed by the brother sister team of Julie and Eric Slick, two phenomenal young talents who are from the Rock School (which Stewart has been involved in in the past). Talking about that, did we ever figure out who plays bass and guitar on "Don't Stand So Close to Me" on the Rock School Soundtrack?

Lynne is going to see porn? lol

I'm dying to see Steve and Eric, but WHY must everyone play multiple shows in a row in the same place? Mean!

PapaCat is soooo cute...he did something secret for Valentine's Day but couldn't keep his own secret <grin> We're going to go see Arlo Guthrie tomorrow and go out to dinner (smart, he is...the day before is not so busy!)...

I've never seen him before even though I adore him...heh named my first kitty Arlo but then was informed by a friend's mother that Arlo was a girl (and she called her Arlene from then on)...MMMMEEEOOOOOWWWW!

F'in hysterical, he us...it's the "Arlo Guthre Solo Reunion Tour: Together At Last"...HAH!

Just home from the Foo Fighters...damn! Another good show. I have a dread feeling it might have been my last show ever at the Spectrum, and the Foos did their best to bring the house down prematurely with the finale, which was definitely the loudest damned version of "Best of You" I've ever heard (and this was my...5th Foo show, I think.)

I wasn't at a good angle for photographs, but I shot about 12 minutes of video which hopefully came out ok (including Taylor's drum solo in "Stacked Actors"). Will try to upload if I can tomorrow.

(PS: Serj Tankian's opening set was awesome too, I only wish he'd had longer to play.)

Good to hear the show tonight was good. I watched their MSG show on Fuse the other day and found Dave to be a bit subpar.

I wouldn't say his voice was at it's best but musically they always bring it in Philly.

OK, here's my Foo vids from last night...sorry the sound isn't the best on some of them, I guess it was my location near the speakers that just overloaded my poor camera:

Times Like These:

A little bit of Dave banter:

Stacked Actors drum solo:

(Sorry the sound is crap. But you get to watch Taylor flail.)

You are very brave.

I will not do pit for the Foos except in Atlantic City where they enforce no-moshing/no-crowd surfing regulations. Last night from my vantage point 8 rows up on sidestage I saw some pretty nasty moshing going on that I would NOT have wanted to be a part of.

If you want to be on the safe side, forget rushing up to the front stage, and just try to get a good spot around the acoustic stage they use for like 4-5 songs near the end of the set at the back of the floor.
