Great Police Songs Never Released/Played Live

Postby jedsoon on 27 Sep 2006 02:07

i grabbed one off amazon last night for a scant 20 bucks plus postage. i may have hit upon it at a particularly lucky time. there was only one other one listed, and it was going for $50! i wouldn't have paid that much for it. tonight it doesn't even show up in a search query. maybe it'll pop up again soon!

it's an official foreign release apparently, but i don't remember the country of origin. it said it was a region free, so i should be able to play it. keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, is not Police, it just a tribute, but when Fall Out was at Nirvana in Monterrey almost a year ago, they played 'Bombs Away and the response of the audience (including me) was really Kool. 8)

Gateshead is always on ebay. I got a vhs of it on ebay a few years ago which is a little funny. It plays weird on some vhs players.

I do need to get the dvd. There is always one listed from Seoul, Korea on ebay for cheap, but I am not buying from that far a distance!

I love looking at old posts when traffic here is slow. I thought this was funny because Dive calls herself a neophyte.

The DVD is also floating around as a torrent...or so I've heard *cough* *cough*

As far as best "unreleased" song(s), I'd have to pipe in that I'd love love love to see some of their instrumental jam sessions released officially. You can hear at least one studio-recorded track on "Police Around the World", as well as one of their soundcheck sessions.

I think Gateshead is available on Amazon. Price was not bad.

Hi all. There is another song that I don't think has ever been put on record. I can remember this from when I stayed up to watch Police in the East with Annie Nightingale in 1980 (or 81). It is also on Police Around the World. It is called Light Changes. If you have the dvd or vid, check it out...................

Stade De France, here I come. 2 weeks and counting. :D

I always thought Light Changes was simply an early version of an Andy/Robert Fripp song. Do Sting and Stewart play on that track?

err, my response was to the original 2 or 3 posts, not William Wallace's question about Light Changes. I think as far as that song is concerned, Equalizer probably said it best

Light Changes is called "Bewitched" on the Summers & Fripp's album "Bewitched".
