I found perfect the SYNCHRONICITY concert in Atlanta

Postby Jose on 24 Sep 2006 18:15

For years I watch "Synchronicity Concert"... At the the first time I watched, It makes me feel with the crowd...then I thought existed other best Police concerts from the past years... two days ago I bought the remastered and digitalized version of "Synchronicity Atlanta" at DVD 2005, and I really found It perfect!

Why? Cause It shows POLICE in the peak of his career, sound is superb... you heard clearly what Stewart drum kit sounds, what Andy's stereo pyrotechnics guitar phrases sounds, what Sting voice sounds originally perfect... and nowadays I recognize, and eat my words from the past, that backing vocals girls fill greats in the spaces POLICE throws to the air for a mixing communion with the audience

SYNCHRONICITY CONCERT shows a band in the pure of a trio band piece, shows it furious with a lot of energy and at the same time rock and sweet, with the great capabilities of great musicians between the technological resources of the era that brought to a charismatic band who ate the audience and entire world in only a year (March 1983 - March 1984)!

Mention apart is the great work in post production that produced Godley and Creme in a nice Rock Concert Video for every audience!

Yep, it's a good one. The only thing is, you gotta wonder about some of the stage outfits the boys wore on that last tour...myself, I liked the suit jackets, concert tees and the flight suit...

Yeah! All the colorfull clothes were cool!

How Miles explained, before Sting realized the Theatre Mogador Paris, first solo concert

By the way, what's the flight suit?

I have yet to buy that but I will, even though I can't stand all the shots of the cheesy slo-motion dancing in the audience.

Nowadays, I thinks it were a great ingredient to feel with the same audience infront of our heroes.... n discussion to re-edit It without memorable audience dancing bloopers like the chinese boy tahat was trowing in the middle of his dance or the blond kid who was discovering by the camera an gave a great five to us ( I mean the Camera) and all the other fans who were lucky to be there... I dont know were could be our reaction in front of a camera in a POLICE concert like this... This audience shots gave the video more vibrant and amazing... withou their shouts or dancings perhaps wont have the same essence of carnival that THE POLICE brought in Synchronicity Concert Tour 83-84

Yeah, I actually really like the 80s production and shots of how all our hair, clothes, etc. looked back in those days. Things are too slick-looking now, if you ask me.

Sting used to wear an old flight suit onstage...you can see it in all its glory in "Everyone Stares"...(I tried to find a still photo, but no luck. Just lots of Sting being a Fabulous Personage...sigh)

All the audience shots don't bother me as much as the bad video effects.

I mean, that strobe-light effect during "Spirits..." Gack! I still can't watch that, I always feel like I'm going to have a seizure. Or all the blurry/motion effects in "Tea in the Sahara". I want to actually be able to *see* the band, not all these silly effects.

Plus, aren't a lot of the audience shots from the Montreal show that was filmed first? I know when I finally got a copy of that Monteal show, I was amused to see all the same silly audience "reaction" shots.

Ohhh yeah this suit is a parachute airforce uniform Sting usually used on stage during 1978-79 Outlandos and begining of Regatta era! Really Cool!!!
