KopelandiK Glossary
N.B. Schmaffy and I have inserted the names of the authors of the definitions- She has done a much better job, as I am overwhelmed and forgetful. Please FEEL FREE to add your name to your contribution if you see it missing.
I did? <blush>

Actually, what I did was add "attributions" to the phrases. So if you see (att.) and then someone's name after an entry, it means they are the one who coined that particular phrase, not necessarily the person who penned the definition. For example, "Oh for fuck's sake" is attributed to Phaty, because that's who originated the phrase, not the one who submitted the entry.

Of course, we can all do whatever we want, but it MIGHT be a touch less unwieldy if we perhaps just list all the contributors at the end (or beginning) of the whole dictionary - otherwise, it may get confusing or we may leave someone out, etc....I certainly don't mind if my name isn't after the stuff I wrote - let's see what people would like to do!

JMHO...

Exactly! I think that a proper dic should mention the sources, or the attributions. I would have done it gladly by retrieving the names if I had the time.
So, let's throw this idea to the nutters and see what they thinK!

P.S. I too don't care about being mentioned in the dic. 8)

"Kind of"?? I can't stop thinking about it! It's like a new lover. I keep seeing flashing rectangles, yellow bars, and drum solo cues dancing in my head.

Wednesday morning, 9:40am Eastern Time:

I would like to respectfully request a temporary freeze on the addition of new entries to the Kopelandik Dictionary so I can give poor TOWOS a break, go through everyone's posts today and make sure that no entries were omitted. I'll also try and put together some missing definitions and thread references.

I will post an updated version as soon as I am able, most likely sometime this afternoon.

Thanks for your understanding!!

Not to violate the freeze but I would like to make a suggestion about one of the definitions. "Stink" is given as a nickname of Sting. I think we should note that this nickname was given by Johnny Rotten/Lydon when criticizing the Police reunion. SC.net sometimes (ok, a lot of times) has the reputation of being anti-Sting, and I think maybe the clarifcation of the definition of "Stink" should be made so non-SC.net regulars don't look at this list and say, "There's those SCnutters being anti-Sting again."

Just my 2 pennies. :)
