F***
It's amazing !!!
I also have a lot of videos and I wouldn't have expected to see a Police video from the early days one day !!!
I know there is a short video (I don't have it yet by the way) of The Police in Mont de Marsan punk festival, that's all.
There is also a video of Sting singing "Only The Wind" with Eberhard Schoener in 1978.
There are very few audio/video testimonies from the 77/78 era, and I'm sure some other people have got treasures like this, and keep them jealously !

Thanks for sharing, Captain Blood, and also a big thank you to Phil.

time for my usual nitpicking:

- great to see this short clip

- but it's not CBGB's 20.10.1978

- Sting and Andy went from the airport straight to CBGB's. So Sting could not use the Fender fretless bass he bought later during the 1st US tour.

- Sting has a Moog Taurus bass pedal at his feet.

- Andy's clothes.

- number of people in the audience.

But it is CBGB's. So it's April 8, 1979.

Ah ah !!
Dietmar you're right !!!
I haven't noticed the Taurus pedals. In fact Sting began to play with them at the beginning of april 1979 (he probably bought them in Buffalo in march, 25 or 26, as the Moog/Norlin headquarters were in this town) ... so you're right: it can't be in october 20, 1978.
Anyway, it's great to see this and I would like to see more !!!

the man who shot this video THINKS it was from the 1st US appearance. He's trying to check (if he can). He's only got about 1 more min. of Andy's BE MY GIRL story - and that's it... :(
