Hey José! (This is long) +[now in English for y'all]

You and me are there, in the center of the Universe.

UN GRAN ABRAZO! SI ESTAS COSAS SUCEDIERON, CUALQUIER COSA PUEDE PASAR! OJALÁ ALGUN DIA NO MUY LEJANO PODAMOS GOZAR A THE POLICE EN NUESTROS PROPIOS PAISES... CUANDO ESO PASE, YO VOY A LIMA Y LUEGO VIENES TU A BOGOTÄ!

Mario

OK, Just because I wanted to share with everybody else, I need to practice my english too, and just had the time ;-) I translated it all...

¡Hi Jose! I read your tale about the incredible experience you had in Chile with Stewart Copeland and the coming true of your dream in a way so spectacular that lived up to all your expectations and it wouldn't be too daring to say it surpassed them by far.

The support and energy you've gotten from all over the world through the SC.net forums and other websites, is simply the fruit of a seed that was long ago planted by your devotion to Stewart and The Police, when your imagination forged an illussion, and your heart asked with the strength only a fan understands, that against all odds and despite all the adverse phrases from Sting in past years, the awaited reunion would happen and the staunch fans of The Police could have the chance to see the powerful trio that once patrolled the streets of music.

Since the tour was announced, I constantly visited the Sc.net forums but I never registered to post until much later. Of course, it couldn't pass unnoticed to me the presence of some spanish-talking members, amongst whom it was prominent a fan from south america, a son of Perú who everybody was friendly with, and who had the fame of having previous direct contact with the one and only Stewart Copeland, lord of cymbals.

As the news releases and website updates were coming day by day, I saw inside of me the growing and shrinking of a hope to see the band coming to Bogotá, my city. At the same time, I witnessed something alike was happening to you, when the chances of a 2007 concert in Lima dimmed each day.

I don't know if you remeber it, but in mid 2007 I made my timid entrance to the SC.net forums, asking some things to the members. I had decided to go see The Police in Buenos Aires if it meant to take desperate measures. My posts were few, but in the last one of them I told you I was gonna go in the mothe of all secret journeys, as the lack of means forced me to hit the road and make it to B.A. as a hitchhiker. You told me to realize the vast highway distances in South America were way longer than in Europe, and I remember y smiled then, 'cause I sensed that as my posts were in english, you were oblivious that I was from Colombia... Too well I understood the distances you were talking about, as I had been studying maps for two weeks. Nonetheless, I didn't give a damn, 'cause just like you, I felt the certainty that this was gonna be the first and last (?) chance of going to a live show of The Police, for us who had missed the most glorious days of Stewart, Andy and Sting for reasons of age and location.

Your history and mine are parallel and inverse, in a a way, 'cause after too many troubles to list here, I lost my motivation and hope to make my trip to Agenrentina happen. You, instead, never stopped moving, unceassingly asking to whom it pertained,to please take the show to Lima. I told myself that, if you succeded, my own hope would be alive again, since Lima is a much closer city.

As days went by it looked clear to me that it wasn't going to happen, and I became resigned to it. Always lurking the forums, I was trhilled to read posts by all these fans who started to put their tales from each show, and even more the stories of those lucky enough to go to two and three shows to have to huge joy of seeing The Police live repeatedly. I also had fun reading about the voyages of The Flag and its ocean crossings. But at the same time I was glad for all the people involved in those things, I was overwhelmed by the sadness of knowing I wan't to experience such things, and thus, mi silent visits to the forums started to dwindle, until they eventually ceased.

The light of hope, the one you never let die, got revived for me when a friend told me aout a radio station contest that would take two listeners to one of the Argentina shows. I got in the contest, with a little skepticism, and then the impossible happened... I won. It was one of the weirdest moments of my whole life when the guy on the radio told me I was gonna fly to Buenos Aires. I thought I was going to wake up, and I thought that it was happening to someone else... I wasn't sure that it all was not an hallucination.

But it wasn't. As the dream became true for you, it became for me... And if I fought for it less than you, I didn't wish for it less intensely... In different ways we both made it (you to Santiago, me to B.A.) to the appointment destiny had made for us with the band we have in the heart. Fairly enough, you won an awesome prize, proportional to your bigger perseverance, the stenght of your efforts and the huge passion for The Polcie that drives you... that prize is the vital link (almost touchable through the screen) that runs from your fingers to Stewarts' in that ass-kicking and unbelievably cool basckstage pic.

José, I congratulate you deeply... and I wish that memory will live vivid in your mind and heart all the days of your life and way beyond, and may it always resonate in your ears the phrase Stewart gave you: You and me are there, in the center of the Universe.

A BIG HUG! IF THESE THINGS HAPPENED, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN! I HOPE SOME NOT TOO DISTANT DAY WE CAN ENJOY THE POLICE IN OUR OWN CONTRIES... WHEN THAT OCCURS I GO TO LIMA AND YOU COME TO BOGOTA, OK?

jeje...
...lindo post Centauro!

Put it in your blog if you wish... it'd honor me.

I took pics wih a borrowed cell phone, but they came out awful... damn thing has no good cam focus nor resolution --it's an old model. I'll send a link to them in a PM if you really want to see them.

PMs DISABLED. OK, I had put these pics up just for the nice ladies I met there
in fist row, but you can check it out too, if you want to.

You've been warned. THE PICS LOOK LIKE CRAP  except the last ones maybe,
(all the way down that page, but TP is not in them, just the aforementioned
ladies and me once the show was over).

So here's the URL for what it's worth:

Your pixeled pics are cool, if you loook it like a pop-art wharhol paints 8)

Do you have Joe's pics gallery link? I need to post most about argentinian concerts into my blog (the same with Brazilian and Puerto Rico's concerts) cause I don't have enough time to post it into my blog.

Hey you look like a mixing of Bob Marley, Jesus and Incubus singer

Your pic with the colombian flag is one of the most outstanding pics I saw... your smile transmit all the feelings you had it 8)
