Yo, North and South American Flag-Bearers and Flag Mules!

Just a reminder that your duties start VERY soon. So please review your assignments and instructions and make sure all contacts have been made and all arrangements are squared away.

Georgy, JMRL, and stinging -- I still need to get you specific mailing instructions.

Australia, New Zealand, and Japan -- I still need to figure y'all out.

Please feel free to send emails if you have any questions, but know that I won't be making any useful progress until after next Wednesday because I've got me a Policealooza this week. Yeefuckinghaw.

Thanks, everyone! Have a great tour leg!

Here's a reminder since it got bumped to the previous page:

To be a flag bearer, is it required to have seats at the front of the stage?

I'll be at the Charlotte show on 11/15 and would be happy to bear the flag!

Sorry, JL -- much as I tried, the Flag just couldn't make the Charlotte show.

Hear ye, hear ye -- here's a quick update to the South American leg of the Flag Schedule as Jose moves in to serve in Santiago.

Yo, Team Copeland!

Some additions to the Asia/Pacific leg of Tourzilla as Midori and Uccellina join the fray.

It's questionable whether or not the Flag can get from Tokyo to Honolulu without that ride on the band jet, so I'm leaving Tokyo Night 2 unassigned for right now and reminding OutlandoGirl and Caligula that Honolulu might not be possible. But if it is, they're in as well.

Special thanks go to Takeshi and Laz, who will be my back-up in Japan, and Larissa, whom I am going to abuse the crap out of.

If you Oceania/Asia/Pacific folks would keep an eye on your inboxes next week so that we can finalize the scheming, I would greatly appreciate it.

In addition, I have to check with some European Flag-Bearers to see if they are able to serve for their rescheduled dates, but otherwise June is open. So if you would like to volunteer, send me an EMAIL and let me know which shows you're interested in and where you are seated, and we'll see what's possible.

Going forward I'm going to skip listing the '07 dates for space and sanity -- but just this once I'm going to list 'em all out so you can see exactly what you folks have done so far. That's 49 concerts in 17 different countries done and counting.

Thanks, everyone, for an incredible run in 2007. Just imagine the kind of damage we'll do in 2008!

Hey, kids. A quick post with the confirmed Flag Schedule for the Pacific Leg. Unfortunately, despite weeks of effort on Midori and Uccellina's part (thank you, Midori and Uccellina), the flag just can't get to Honolulu without a mule. Which sucks. But my thanks go to both OutlandoGirl and Caligula for being willing to sacrifice a lot in order to make it work. Salt of the earth are you folks.

So here's the bit we've got so far:

*****

THE FLAG'S PACIFIC LEG (OCEANIA AND ASIA): WELLINGTON TO TOKYO

JOURNEY 1: Los Angeles to Wellington
Some time before mtj heads back west, DM gets the flag to mtobinjones. On 15 Jan, mtobinjones carries the Flag by plane from L.A. to New Zealand. She carries the flag to the Wellington show.

STOP 1: JANUARY 17 -- Wellington (mtobinjones and plutonic)

JOURNEY 2: Wellington to Auckland
On 19 Jan., mtobinjones carries the flag to Auckland.

STOP 2: JANUARY 19 -- Auckland (mtobinjones and plutonic)

JOURNEY 3: Auckland to Melbourne
On Monday, 21 January, flag is mailed to arrive at Larissa's house in Melbourne by Wednesday, 23 January. Larissa hands the flag to visions before the Melbourne show.

STOP 3: JANUARY 26 -- Melbourne (visions)

JOURNEY 4: Melbourne to Osaka
After the Melbourne concert, visions carries the flag home with her to Hobart. On Monday, 28 January, visions mails the flag to arrive at Midori's house in Tokyo by Friday, 1 February. Midori carries the flag to the Osaka concert.

STOP 4: FEBRUARY 10 -- Osaka (Midori)

JOURNEY 5: Osaka to Tokyo
Before the 13 February Tokyo concert, Midori hands the flag to Uccellina.

STOP 5: FEBRUARY 13 -- Tokyo (Uccellina)

. . . ???

*****

OCEANIA - confirmed
17 Jan - Wellington (mtobinjones)
19 Jan - Auckland (mtobinjones)
26 Jan - Melbourne (visions)

ASIA - confirmed-ish
10 Feb - Osaka (Midori)
13 Feb - Tokyo (Uccellina)
14 Feb - Tokyo (TENTATIVE)

EUROPE #2 - all dates pending
5 Jun - Mannheim (phaty)
8 Jun - Dusseldorf (maud138)

Crap.....no flag in Honolulu?
What happened?
Let me know if I can help.
Maybe a Canadian angle would work.

Thanks for the offer, D-A-O, but unless Tokyo moves to Canada, it's still a non-starter. Too few resources available and too little time. Despite the extreme efforts made in multiple languages, it just can't happen without a mule traveling from Japan to Hawaii.

My thanks again to Team Tokyo and the theoretical Team Honolulu for all the efforts these past few weeks. You guys have worked really hard, and I am grateful. I only wish the timing and circumstances had worked out.

Got your e-mail, DM & thank you for all these arrangements.

D-A-0>Crap.....no flag in Honolulu?

It's very disappointing, especially I feel sorry for OutlandoGirl & Caligula, but the schedule is too tight to deliver it by mail (risky).
Team Japan is still searching for someone reliable to carry it, the possibility is very low I'm afraid.

MIRACLE WANTED !!

Heh. Probably depends on how many Mai Tais you've downed.

Don't worry, Uccellina -- it's disappointing, but it happens. I'm afraid that we just can't get the Flag to every show. But we tried. And I'm sure Stewart will be appreciative regardless.
