Leroy Coolbreeze Fund donations in honor of Nancy's mother

Postby Lynne on 05 Nov 2007 16:01

As many of you know, Nancyrose's mother passed away last week. Nancy is such a generous and giving person, and has contributed much to the SC.net community. One of the most visible contributions Nancy has made is in helping to establish the Leroy Coolbreeze Fund at Melanoma International.

One way we can honor Nancy's mother's memory and Nancy is by giving to the Leroy Coolbreeze Fund in honor of Nancy's mother, Margaret Albrecht. I've just spoken with the folks there, and they will set up their internal accounts so that all donations marked "In memory of Margaret Albrecht" will go to the Leroy Coolbreeze Fund, and will also be tied to Nancy, to honor her hard work and generosity in establishing the Fund as well as her mother's memory.

The url for donations is

https://www.melanomaintl.org//donate.asp

and in the in memory of box, you can enter "In memory of Margaret Albrecht".

[by the way, they are still working on the PayPal; it's more complicated than they anticipated!]

To say that you're an awesome group doesn't even begin to cover it!

My heart is so full of affection and appreciation for the friends I've made here...you have touched me to the core. Words like "community" and "family" get bandied about so casually online, but how else to describe the way this collection of folks cares for and rallies around its individual members? I really love you all, and will never forget the compassion and kindness you have shown me at such a difficult time. I aim to hug each and every one of you in the coming months...just need to work out this pesky geography thing!

You are some of the finest people on the planet!

xoxo
