No Lyrics Versions Of Police Songs

Postby CHA on 18 Oct 2007 17:16
You can also turn the vocals way down with programs like Cakewalk I think.
Which version of Cakewalk is that?

I really want to hear Deathwish & No Time This Time & On Any Other Day & Beds Too Big.
And of course a whole slew of others. 8)

OK, here are come quick tracks off of Reggatta. Some of them worked better than others, I included the better sounding ones.

I'm still working on some other tracks, it's taking me a while. But they will sound much better than these quickie 'blur' jobs...

You're welcome, but again, they are really someone else's music. I'm just messing with it a little. And honestly, I could do some more work on them to remove even more of the vocals, but for now I think these can tide everyone over...at least for a little bit.

I think there excellent! The guitar "On Any Other Day" is really cool! May I suggest afew for the next round? If you decide to do some more Krokodyle?

If I can get to it, I will.

The trouble is that there sometimes is no rhyme or reason as to which tracks "work" and which ones don't. "No Time..." and "Bed's Too Big..." just didn't come out that well. I'm sure it has to do with the original mix, but they really weren't worth posting.

Although I do have a fan-made upmix CD of "Ghost" in 5.1...so I might use that for some of the remixes.

These "blur jobs" are great too. :!: I've been giving them a good amount of listening. Definately happy to hear these!
Yep, there's a staccato part during the chorus that is very noticeable now...
Yes, and what later Jung-inspired song was that lick used on? I thought I always heard that, but couldn't decipher it.

I'm playing with "Regatta" in Audition, there's only so much any of these "vocal removal" filters/effects/tricks can really do. It makes it even more difficult when the vocal isn't front and center and/or treated with effects.

I'm also playing with the DTS disc of "Every Breath - The Classics", which is slightly different than the 5.1 mix of the video DVD (especially because the DTS disc has the later version of "De Do Do Do..." on it. It's a bit more difficult, as you have to extract the DTS track, convert it to .wav, and then demux the .wav into the seperate channels (or open it with a program that can do it). Considering I'm still from the old-school, hands-on school of mixing boards, using 100% software for mixing is a bit of a learning process. But I learn quickly...

Have just listened to the "remixed" outlandos tracks and it makes you appreciate the different layers of songs......love hearing andys guitar work isolated like that.

Thanks Kroc..... would like to hear more..!!

It also makes you wonder what they must have in the vaults of A&M. When they fade out tracks, what happens to the rest of the song??!! Some tracks sound like the band must be still playing and the producer has just literally faded them out!!! (Yes I know..its the trainspotter in me! )

Just that this reunion business has us all pining for Police stuff..anything!!! What would a new studio album sound like now........?

If anyone has any interesting mixes, versions etc then let me know!!

Wow, your doing a great job on them!
Anything else you've come up with is GREATLY appreciated so much.
Even if you think it doesn't sound like much, don't hold back.
I'm sure lots of people would love them.
I'm hoping you can get some going without lyrics completely, Even if it's just a drum or bass track, I know, I'm not asking for much, right? :P

Sorry to bump such an ooooooooold thread, but I did some searching and
didn’t see these upped yet for all of you ravenous nutters…

These are the audio files from the EBYT DTS (multichannel) disc, and each
of the separate channels has been converted to FLAC for lossless fun (like
mixing in Audacity). Though they aren't fully on topic of this thread--the
vocals are intact--you can hear differences in the channels and hear things
you many not have before.

Each zip runs about 40-70MB. I know that’s large, but don’t forget they’re
lossless, and each zip contain 6 FLAC files (for each channel of the song,
including the LFE).

(If these have been upped already, I apologize, but I did search)

Enjoy! And please support our filthy rich boys (and their company) by
buying the EBYT disc!

I've almost finished upping the last missing track.

Anyone grabbing these? Was it a waste of time? :?
