OHHHHHHHH MYY FUCKING GOOOOODDDDDDD
I can't belive what I am hearing.
This really is the place where dreams come true.
Thank you Kroco, I can't belive you found them.

I really wanted songs from Outlandos or Regatta but didn't tell you that.
But when I played your ELTSDIM remixs' I  .
This is essentially the demo I've been looking for.
They used the demo of this song and just slicked it out because they couldn't recapture the essence or 'magic' of the demo sting made at home. Just replacing the drums and adding some more stuff.
I have ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS wanted to hear it...and here it is, or hints at it. It's so revealing to hear the recording process as it develops.

LONG STORY OF MY INSPIRATION, Go Ahead, Read it.

That song was the one to make me WANT to play music in 1984.
I had just graduated high school and was working in the mall at a clothing store. It was on the radio and I listened to the whole song staring at the jeans, it was a slow customer moment. I owned the album and loved more than life but this was a special listening. I thought how can someone have made a song like that. I decided right there I WAS GOING TO LEARN how to play music.

I had never played a note of anything but had talked to my friend in the school band about learning, he could play every instrument and wrote our class song. AT THAT VERY MOMENT after deciding...he walked in the store and said he was off to Berkley School of Music in Boston and It made me so sad with jealousy, but I said "Hey! Wait. I've got to learn how to play...can you help me."
He must have seen the tears in my eyes because He said 'YES' and asked me for blank paper. When I got it he drew out the notes of the piano and told me how it worked. Right there in the jeans section way in the back of the store, out of view, he gave me my first music lesson then left forever. I saw him couple years later and I was playing Kiss Me Deadly by GenerationX. He turned out to be an incredible jazz piano player. I've played in many a band but never got my feet off the ground with music.

But just the other night I put on a live Bring on the Night from 1979 and played along perfectly ... and felt complete.

CHA your idea about The Police songs without lyrics is awesome, better in case Sting's voice need a little rest.

I love these mixes, especially the purely instrumental ones like King of Pain. Just a note, the last one is obviously Wrapped and not Tea In the Sahara (too bad cause I love Tea In the Sahara) Every Breath sounds more haunting this way and you can really hear Andy. These type mixes are always welcome so please keep them coming if there are more out there.

Heh, well thanks, I obviously can't take credit for this stuff, it's their music and I can only hope they don't get too pissed off that I posted it. But it does show that there is a definite base for these kinds of mixes, like Stewart's "Derangements", that can come from someone outside the Police's camp.

Like I mentioned, it was a totally quick job, I didn't do any EQ work on them (and obviously I misnamed one of the tracks). Perhaps I'll do a few more, some of them work better than others, it all depends on how they mixed the 5.1 disc.

As far as earlier stuff, I agree: I would LOVE to hear Regatta remixed to 5.1, but the disc this was made from is their "hits", so it's more later-album material. But I'll see what I can come up with.

Other thing that's been done are "upmixes", which are basically 5.1 discs created from standard, two-channel audio CDs, by members of the general public, for nothing more than pure enjoyment. I haven't personally ventured into this realm yet, but I think I will try my hand at it very soon. I'll let you know if anything comes of it. ;)

OK, here's something else. It's two tracks off of Outlandos:

http://www.gigasize.com/get.php?d=8j1xdswgs2b (new link!)

It's a VERY quick job, this took me about 10 minutes using the blur/inversion trick. You split the track into two seperate channels, invert the soundwave of the second channel, and then make both channels mono. The result "blurs" the vocal. It's an old trick but it works decently.

This is not what the finished music will sound like, it's just an idea of where it's going... ;)

All the songs in the channel cixes are great listening.
I can't thank you enough for that Kroko.
I just don't have the equipment to do it now.
I'm loving listening to message and don't stand and...all of them.
And roxanne, thanks alot Eq

rar file wouldn't extract, says corrupt. is it just me?

Thank you English-lion. :P :D :D
I thought it was a bit much to post but people can just not read it. :P

Thank you georgygirl, I'm glad you agree.
( It's not that the voice isn't so important. The energy, power & melody of Stings voice is so much apart of the magic and greatness. I'm sure everyone would agree.
It's also just so nice to hear the songs a different way. I love it! )

I still have yet to try Cakewalk.....getting there.

I liked them. On "Next To You" Andy's guitar playing & Stewart's drumming are much more pronounced without the vocals. Thanks Krok.

 I heard a new guitar part I never heard on Next To You.
I didn't think that was possible. These do the trick for now greatly.
Loving them, if not also for a breath of air.
All of their songs are worth a different listen, an inside listen.

Yep, there's a staccatto part during the chorus that is very noticeable now...
