OHHHHHHHH MYY FUCKING GOOOOODDDDDDD
I can't belive what I am hearing.
This really is the place where dreams come true.
Thank you Kroco, I can't belive you found them.
I really wanted songs from Outlandos or Regatta but didn't tell you that.
But when I played your ELTSDIM remixs' I
.
This is essentially the demo I've been looking for.
They used the demo of this song and just slicked it out because they couldn't recapture the essence or 'magic' of the demo sting made at home. Just replacing the drums and adding some more stuff.
I have ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS wanted to hear it...and here it is, or hints at it. It's so revealing to hear the recording process as it develops.
LONG STORY OF MY INSPIRATION, Go Ahead, Read it.
That song was the one to make me WANT to play music in 1984.
I had just graduated high school and was working in the mall at a clothing store. It was on the radio and I listened to the whole song staring at the jeans, it was a slow customer moment. I owned the album and loved more than life but this was a special listening. I thought how can someone have made a song like that. I decided right there I WAS GOING TO LEARN how to play music.
I had never played a note of anything but had talked to my friend in the school band about learning, he could play every instrument and wrote our class song. AT THAT VERY MOMENT after deciding...he walked in the store and said he was off to Berkley School of Music in Boston and It made me so sad with jealousy, but I said "Hey! Wait. I've got to learn how to play...can you help me."
He must have seen the tears in my eyes because He said 'YES' and asked me for blank paper. When I got it he drew out the notes of the piano and told me how it worked. Right there in the jeans section way in the back of the store, out of view, he gave me my first music lesson then left forever. I saw him couple years later and I was playing Kiss Me Deadly by GenerationX. He turned out to be an incredible jazz piano player. I've played in many a band but never got my feet off the ground with music.
But just the other night I put on a live Bring on the Night from 1979 and played along perfectly ... and felt complete.
This really is the place where dreams come true.
