I bought this CD a few weeks ago and just got around to giving it a listen. Stewart gives us a lot of wonky piano work here, along with swelling violins and horns. I had to laugh at the title of track 5: "The Lion Bitches." By the way, how does Stewart go about directing an entire orchestra? Does he write out sheet music for every single instrument? A final observation: Track 12 suggests that the leopard's mother dies. Is that why the cub looks sad on the cover? I never saw the film.

i enjoy this album a great deal. unlike a lot of his soundtracks, this one actually has pictures of him, and very cool ones at that. he looks awesome dressed in white, sitting high atop his drum throne, perched above the rest of the orchestra. i've always wanted to see a rock show set up similarly, with the drummer more prominently featured instead of just stuck in the back.
