One album then poof they were gone. Always loved that about the Pistols.

Wonder if any of us would be here if the Police has released Outlandos and then broke up.....

Fallout Boy and PATD can't call themselves punk. At best, they're just a bunch of punks, but does not make their much punk. Actually, I kind of like PATD (a bunch of nice Vegas Catholic school boys).
Is Green Day still punk, or did Good Riddence and September Ends destroy that for them?
Jose - you've got alot to learn about music and music history.

Oh boo hoo - mr. mean ole john lydon said something mean about the Police so now I'm gonna go cry and piss and moan about the Pistols

I love both the police and The Pistols but the Sex Pistols were a million times more influental than the police.

Check out the Fith and the Fury DVD.

Oh and try an open mind this time.....
Yep I need to be registered into Black Jack's "School of Rock" ... I confused about the instrument Sed Vicious performed, but the fact is that I described what this "History Channel" chapter shows and how their producers and members of "Sex Pistols" explain about the "real" recording...

Yeah I know "punk" is so influential... but like they saids... they thoughts they were a "rock n'roll band"... they were the main in the mainstream, but with the help of whom?? Perhaps the industry needed an icon into "punk" movement and at last found on "Sex Pistols" what they search... They are not totally legitime..as we already thinks...so in their position why Lydon tried to fight with "The Police" in the same position...

If others making my album or record session for me... I am not a legitime artist... I will be something like "Milli Vanilli" or something like this ( those fakers who won grammy and that return it when he were discovered like real fakers ) well isn't the same story... but for an influential band than "Sex Pistols" is a big desilussion...

Yeah I am angry with that "carcase" hahahahaha!!!

Honestly? I think they may just be the heirs to the greatness that was the Clash.

I still seriously cannot believe "American Idiot" gets played on the radio. It's as subversive a song to hit the top 20 as anything that's come out in the last 15 years.

(I'm not a huge fan of "September", but "Boulevard" isn't terrible...Lately I've been hearing that cover of Lennon's "Working Class Hero" a lot, think it kinda rulez...)

I agree, The Filth and the Fury DVD is excellent - well worth checking out.
Steve Jones had Andy on his LA radio show just before the reunion-
they seemed to have mutual respect. Jose, don't let Mr. Rotten's
shtik get to you - it's part of his punk rock charm.

Georgygirl

when you get THE only Sex Pistols CD...listen to the great song "God Save the Queen"!

To me it has that same rockin vibe of Andy's early Police guitar work.

I love that tune!

I have to get that DVD, how did I not hear about it? Cool !

Hey did you guys ever like Public Image? I remember the theme song, maybe it was the only big song with a video from them...it was great!

"Anger is an ENER-GY ! Anger is an ENER-GY !"

it's like a wierd Irish punk ballad.

I might go buy that CD if it's around.

Thanks for the Punk memories.

Punks.

Is a joke... I am not totally angry...with that venerable old man , but at least he is the only one that continue been into a "punk" charm look...with his punky hair style, earings and colorfull clothes... their other mates looks calmy, quiet and like good daddies or gandphas?

I really like certain songs.

I really like when a band has a theme song. I just listened to theirs and it brings back memories..."Public Imaaaage" yEhAAAAAAA !

Music rules.

('cept for Kanye West, I wish Public Enemy would kick his ass)

Had to chime in here...in addition to Duke's recommendations anyone interested in the Pistols should check out Lydon/Rotten's autobiography - as Phaty might say it's phanphuckingtastic. Pistols rock.

Jose, for the record Sid actually only appears on 2 songs and even on those Jones or Matlock dubbed bass over Sid's since he couldn't play a lick (which, as alluded to, sort of makes him the ultimate true punk). Contrary to popular belief Jones, Matlock and Cook could play.

BongoBoy - the PiL compilation is pretty good. They have some fantastic albums and some not so fantastic. I've seen PiL twice and the show from '86 at the Austin Coliseum is still in my top 5 shows of all time. During "Rise" Lydon had to pull a kid up on to the stage because he was getting crushed between the stage and the moshing - little punk got to sing the "Anger is an energy!" part with Johnny fucking Rotten. Lucky bastard.

EQ - to me Green Day releasing Good Riddance was the most punk thing they ever did. I like 'em.

As for the Clash...probably my second fave band behind the Police. RIP, Joe.
