about the elder Johnny Sex Pistols!!!

Postby Jose on 05 Oct 2007 02:31

Yesterday I watched on "History Channel" a Tv Special about the making of Sex Pistols's "God Save the Queen" album and is so funny watching that Johnny Lyndon aka Johnny Rottem...I don't know if the same...

Well the documentary told in the voice and image of Johnny, their bassist, former mates and former producers... that all of this stuff is like a fake.... well in the record session all was arranged by the producers... also the "Queen" song was performed by only one member, cause the others weren't capable to play it...

Producers also tolds about they put in less layers the bass lines... and put another guitar form oher guitarist... and for the live performing... that guitarist was play live in the backstage...while the band and his guitarist Sed Vicious was on stage, cause Vicious dind't play well... talks about the design of the album...well I don't see any anarquist in those over-rated band...

so for me Johnny Lydon aka Rottem is a totally carcase elder meat fake!!!

Ps: I just noticed they are on studios again this year?? :?

Jose ... no Sex Pistols - NO POLICE!!!

Google it and learn about it - and Sid Vicious was the bassplayer which doesn't really matter because he couldn't play THAT instrument as well!

hah, I always thought the band that opened for the first Pistols gig was the one Adam Ant was the bass player for...who, as Dietmar reminded me in the other thread, I have always adored, off his nut or not <giggle>

Stewart was at some of the Pistol's gigs in London, I think he's pogo'ing in a frame of Temples ;Filth and the Fury'...Although Sting's cameo appearance in that one takes the cake <grin>

But I may be totally off my rocker in all counts...heh, been a long time since I knew what I was talking about but as you can see I don't let that stop me <grin>

But yeah, I have always been more interested in forward than back looking, although you can't help but remember days/times/places/events that are so interconnected with music you listened to at a certain point... That's why I am all for a new album, although the Police are not merely retrospective in the way they are totally attacking their songs, making them fresh, and playing them as their current repertoire! <Cheshire Grin>

Jose - you've got alot to learn about music and music history.

Oh boo hoo - mr. mean ole john lydon said something mean about the Police so now I'm gonna go cry and piss and moan about the Pistols

I love both the police and The Pistols but the Sex Pistols were a million times more influental than the police.

Check out the Fith and the Fury DVD.

Oh and try an open mind this time.....

I never heard Sex Pistols, but from your post Duke, I think I will buy a CD from them soon. Anyway, this band is very very famous since many years ago, and I really have the curiosity to hear it.

well you've pretty much only got one to choose from. :)

But yeah, the Filth and the Fury is one of the better rock bio films I've ever seen.

My fav is really the Reunion Live CD (for the comedy factor that is) when Johnny R. goes: "We are not that fucking bad after all are we ... !"
At least nobody would analyze their bootlegs for guitar mistakes!

As much as I love the album I also really like the Goodman demos. Finally got a copy of the Winterland gig on DVD. Pretty amazing stuff.

All right.. Here we go now... a sociology lecture.. A bit of psychology... a bit of neurology ... a bit of fuckology .... No fun!

Gig from Oct 76

That's probably my fav.

Hey, thanks for the advices pals.

I think I will buy two of Sex Pistols;

Filth and the Fury and the Reunion Live CD , maybe this afternoon.

And about the mistakes, I can´t perceive it, because I am just a lucky listener.
