The FLAG of Copelandia Anthem - a BongoBoy song.

Great effort, Russ! Your voice is very charming in a Wierd Al kinda way. Even in rough form, the song is pretty catchy!

Thanks for bringing Stewart out of hiding 8)

Hell, wouldn't it be appropriate for the audio book to be in the mellifluous tones of Stewart Armstrong Copeland? I can listen to him talk for hours (I'm a wee bit embarrassed about how many times I've listened to the Mac "Think Different Drummer" interview ...). Plus, maybe it could be like the Everyone Stares DVD: a straight reading, and the option of a reading with "commentary on" so he can editorialize about the events as he's reading!

Hiya, Bongoboy! :)

Yep, I sure did :) Loved it there, not a bad venue for hanging out in. I used to go to the clubs to see a friend of mine, who was in the band King Apparatus... they do ska. Heard of them?

1998 sounds like it could have been either way, though... I would have been in another city by then, pregnant and too fat to rock  BUT afte the baby was born we did go back to Toronto a few times to see bands, so... it's completely and totally possible we've met in a roundabout way, almost a decade before this board :)

Either way, I'd like to say "Nice to meetcha" :D

Other sign of twin sisterhood...you mean there is an AUDIO version of that interview? I read the transcript, but oh the Voice (with all due respect to Ol'Blue Eyes, always and forever)...Even the graphic Serengeti narrative...Nobody says "farting" like Stew. :D (Must really be love).

One of my favorite teen pastimes, especially in the first Police period, was "spot Stewart's voice" in the songs (apart from the obvious). Sometimes I think I really got it wrong (like the voice you can hear over Sting's at the end of Peanuts, today I am convinced it's not Stewart). But other times I think I spotted it. I think he sang at least one of the tracks in Darkness, No Time This Time, at the beginning of Shadows in the Rain, 1-2-3-4 at the beginning of Masoko Tanga, while the "yeah" sounds like Andy to me. Talk about obsession, eh?

Oh yeah, I played a *lot* of "spot Stewart's voice"! Drove my friends batty. I still think it's him at the beginning of Peter Gabriel's "Big Time", although the credits are not explicit one way or the other. So now I drive my husband batty with it :P .

Here's the think different interview:

http://itc.conversationsnetwork.org/sho ... il342.html

Happy listening! My favorite part is where he goes along talking about the intuitiveness of music, not being a math guy, etc., and then when they're talking about doing 6/4 when the midi tracks are all in 4/4, he goes into this totally mathematical explanation (that he probably doesn't think is a math explanation, but it is). That single spot of conversation has pushed me over the edge to get a friend to teach me to read music.

I've come to the party late but wanted to add my cheers BB for writing and recording a fun song. Nice work! Can't wait to hook up with you and your lovely girl again in Toronto. Man, my cell phone takes a crap photo doesn't it?!

You won't have to wrestle the flag from my hands in November. I'm proud you're going to wave it. With an endorsement from THE MAN himself, you've earned it!

I'm commiting the lyrics to memory so we can all sing it together at the pub prior to the shows!!

See ya in a few short months.
