Awesome. He was great when I saw him earlier this year.
Robert Fripp
CRAP. I just checked and he's in Philly the same night as the DC Police show.

Neither of which I most likely can make because of work-related travel. :(
Sockii...so very jealous of the Phil Collins tickets!!!

I'm really going to be curious to see it, as I've seen Phil solo (and no matter what, even though I don't like a lot of his later solo stuff he can put on a fine show) but never with the band. While the Gabriel-era stuff is still my favorite, I'm quite fond of the Collins-era stuff too, at least up to (if not entirely including) Invisible Touch.

(BTW, if you like early Genesis you MUST catch The Musical Box if they come your way. Absolutely uncanny. I so wish they'd to the "Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" show one more time as I regret deeply only having had the chance to see it once...)

I've heard them a bit on woxy.com, and I've liked it, so I'm looking forward to it. And the new Hot Hot Heat CD just makes me all bouncy, so that'll be fun too! I'll definitely report back.

(sigh)
I remember when I had the time. And the energy to go to more concerts. Now I only go to "can't miss" shows rather than the "merely interesting." So that means probably the only non-Police show I'll see in the next year is the Foos. I'm still kicking myself for not gettinga ticket to see Tenacious D last year. I really heart them.

Dietmar: the last Feb 12 was pretty spectacular but I do hope that they play somewhere and somewhere fantastic at that on 2/12! <grin>

I've heard from many that the Killers put on a killer show but I have yet to see them.

Sockii: I assume you saw the 11/1 NYC date for Fripp...it's too bad if you can't make it as it looks like at least I (but likely PapaCat, too) will be trying for that show :(

It looks like I was lucky to see the White Stripes as I just learned that they cancelled their entire Fall tour because Meg is suffering from debilitating anxiety, that really breaks my heart...

Lynne: heh, I can work insanely long days and so I distribute my work between small trips...gone for 5 days, work 16 hour days for the next chunk, and so forth. Some people work consistently for a certain number of hours a day but I am a cat with wanderlust so the other system works better for me...I'll let you know when I finish <grin>

Unfortunately that's a big no-can-do either...I'm gonna be on a plane for the West Coast that day. :-/

EQ; just add another "1" and you've got 2112...that would be my second favourite Rush album :)

Ahhhhhhh. I decided not to see them this time. Probably a bad decision, but I can't imagine them without Paul Hester. They are one of the few bands that has played a show so good that I don't want to mess with the memory of it by seeing them again. Did the Finn brothers make it to germany last time round? They make my top ten shows of all time. Just gorgeous.

I´m going to see a trio that have reunited this year after many years of separation. Where? River Plate stadium, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Have a clue?

Not even close

It´s an argentinian band called Soda Stereo. With lots of Police influences in their first two albums. They will be playing 5 dates (and there are rumours of a final 6th date) at the same 50,000 people stadium in Buenos Aires The Police will be playing twice so you can imagine they are big here.

Hey, I'm going to check out that band, JMRL. I've heard of them...either Jose or my friend Thiego mentioned them to me, I think...I'm just going to have to make it to Rio before too much more time goes by.

Smudge, I saw Tim Finn play a smallish club about three months ago and he was stupendous. Crowded House played Nashville last week, but I had a drinking date with a couple of charming birds from the city by the Thames, which took the priority...:)
