Where the hell is Stewart?

Postby BongoBoy on 16 Mar 2006 18:13

I have always been surprised by how MUCH he interacts with us.

Pretend to look at it from the artists perspective. If he answers all of the questions then everything would bog down into endless back and forth. Just look at some of the difficulties we have had here with posts lately, it seems to me the smartest thing to do is pick and choose you responses...like he does.

I want him to answer my questions but I don't think he's obligated at all, like others have mentioned...other artist sites you would never ever hear from them.

We are the lucky few.

Thanks to Giovanni and Stewart.
Cheers.

Bongo Boy, I love your reflections.

And you are right, how lucky we are, but also that we are Stewart's selected fans, that really love his work in all senses. 8)

Yea, I think it's really cool to talk to your friends and say Stewart wrote this today....and then you can ask them...so, has U2 (or whomever) posted anything to you today? (heh, heh)

We should enjoy this while we can, I feel Stewart is going to become more involved in movies and music, and more popular. He'll be even more busy than he is now...if that's possible.

Cheers.

Stewart owes us nothing.

I feel lucky to have access to what's available. I'm sure Stewart (or his attorneys) could shut down this and any other site that bears his likeness and compositions if he so desired.

Be happy for what you have because it could be gone without notice.
Thanks for always being yourself Stewart

I know I don't post here often, but... wow.

OK, I may not have been technically correct. But the point remains that SC doesn't engage his fans via his website like he should. Without his input and response, we just look like a bunch of sychophants, idolizing an absentee idol.
Wow, two posts in the last several weeks? Pardon me if I'm underwhelmed.

Well, if it's any consolation, JL, you most certainly do not come across as a sycophant.

Who is to say he ought to "engage his fans via his website" at all? He's not obliged to do so. It's not his job. And even if "nobody's that busy", maybe he just has more interesting things to do with his time!

Rather than complaining that he doesn't post on a fan-forum often enough, I think you ought to consider how lucky we are that he visits the forum and engages with his fans at all. So many musicians, actors, etc have websites that are run without their involvement, arranged by the record company, there to sell the product, there to sustain a distance between the artist and the fans - all communication at one remove.

And here we have Stewart, who is obviously involved with the site, who contributes enthusiastically with news updates and blogs. I think it's amazing, to be honest (not to mention brave, considering some of the nutters that prowl the internet) that he is willing to make direct contact like that.

I couldn't believe it when I first saw his posts on here, and my first thought was how cool it was that he was SO MUCH in contact with the fans on a day-to-day basis, willing to speak to them directly instead of issuing statements through a representative. That's still a rare thing, and something to be appreciated, not snarked at because he doesn't drop in as often as you'd like.

Grapefruit, I concur.

Just to know Stewart is reading and actively participating, is truely amazing.

Getting the snippets of information here and there, blogs.

All I can say is this site Rocks!!!

Let me just say a big word to everything Grapefruit and animal said.

I feel we are incredibly lucky to be Stewart fans, and no small part of that is having the chance to interact with him here on this board and enjoy his stories and blogs.

Of course he has better things to do with his time than to constantly be hanging out here and answering every single person's comment or question! But then, of course there's also no pleasing some people when it comes to their demands as far as what they think they "deserve" as fans. :x
