A Journalist Likes Stewart's Fashion Statement

Postby IndyGirl on 09 Sep 2007 00:27

I saw an article that was talking about the concert in Birmingham and the journalist said this about Stewart's outfit: "Even though he sports an unironic bandana, he's the most strangely fashionable of the three, with his nu-rave white trousers, white gloves and big baseball boots." Later in the article the journalist said this, "The third most exciting thing? Watching where Copeland's discarded drumsticks end up." Here's the article link: http://observer.guardian.co.uk/review/s ... 93,00.html

Damn! And I thought for sure Andy would get conked first.

At least you didn't trip, Stewart. :P
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

The rest of that review was weird. It's as if reviewers can't just relax and have a good time. I keep wondering if they're seeing the same show that the fans are seeing? This one sounds disgruntled about the same things that punk purists took issue with 30 years ago, that is their musicianship, etc.

For me, the most remarkabe comment was that STING played "Andean Pipes" (Antara) in "Walking in your footsteps"

Somebody took a pic of STING with his andean pipe at POLICE CONCERT 2007???

Poor Stewart...lol. Hey he did the same thing on Synchronicity video. Lobbed his sticks and almost got hit, but ducked out of the way. Sort of.

He needs to do some stick tricks or something unique and cool. Anything but knock his noggin...ouch. I have dropped my beloved Copeland Vaters on my feet playing around or just from jammin on my legs cuz I need to get a practice pad. Not fun. Resulted in bruises. (I bruise easy..so)

there was quite a good review in the daily mail today, shall have to see if I can type it up tomorrow.

I loved stewart's white gloves, kind of gave him the appearance of a magician, so you concentrate on his hands and the music they make!

We're going to have to get the man a helmet and have it fitted with a helmet cam

Idiots - like they could do any better. I'm beginning to really hate critics.

They're doing "Hole In My Life" now? I wuz robbed!

Drumstick mishaps happen. The other night, I saw Neil Peart try to toss a stick. It performed a graceful arc, up and behind him. He could only smile, shake his head, then go slammin' through the next fill.

We won't even mention the number of times I've unintentionally flung hickory - D'OH!
