AUUUUGHHH! Missed a chance to see the Foos for Free

The Foo Fighters annouced that they would be playing a special concert in Las Vegas on September 9. They are going to have special guests, including QOTSA and others that I can't remember. Anyway, the tickets were FREE! However, this was announced on-line on September 5 but I did not hear about this until today. Of course, the show is sold out. AUUUGGH! Maybe if I wasn't only on SC.net all the time, I would have heard about this earlier.

The show is going to take place in one of the Palm's Fantasy Suites.

Weeeeellll.....These type of show normally are announced to friends, family, paying members of fan clubs, Josh Homme's drug dealers and hangers-on first...word of mouth and you have to know one of the above to get there in time. This gets to be practically a real feat if the show is for free.
Do not be angry. Mostly the bands get a kick out of it and a lot of publicity from this type of schtuff.

I've only ever seen dave grohl playing with queens of the stone age, at the glastonbury festival. I swear to god you could have seen the huge grin on the guy's face from outside paris. not my kind of music as such, but soooo goood.

Hmm, you know, I think I heard mention of this myself via the Foo newsletter or a blog or something, but I didn't pay it much attention because it sounded like they were looking for a bunch of camera-ready cardboard hotties to fill the audience more than genuine, regular fans (you had to actually submit a photograph of yourself before you'd get a chance to get tickets!)

So don't beat yourself up too much about it.

(anyway, I missed them in Auckland once when my littlest got very sick. i was a loser. but a good mommy loser.dave would understand now...)
