FINAL TWICKENHAM MEET-UP DETAILS

FINAL TWICKENHAM MEET-UP DETAILS

Postby Hannaha on 04 Sep 2007 16:18

2pm The Cabbage Patch, London Road Twickenham
http://www.cabbagepatch.co.uk/welcome.htm

Concert timings are as follows (from Twickenham Stadium official website):

Doors Open – 16.30
Fiction Plane – 1800 – 1845
Maximo Park – 1900 – 1950
The Police – 20.15 - 22.30
Curfew 22.30

The stadium is about a 10-15 minute walk from the pub so it does leave us quite a bit of time for drinking, eating, chatting, flag-signing, putting-the-world-to-rights and phaty-wrestling, depending on how interested everyone is in the support bands (Maximo Park are pretty ace and worth catching in my opinion - Dietmar will back me up on this).

Please remember that flag-signing is for SC.NET MEMBERS ONLY so please make sure that any friends who may be with you know that they CANNOT sign the flag under ANY circumstances. There will be absolutely no exceptions to this rule. DirtyMartini would cry and nobody wants that :)

If the weather is good I will be found in the garden of the pub wearing an sc.net t-shirt, shorts and tube socks and with some kind of sign displayed (probably not the actual flag, in case of accidents - but I will update on this). But I'm pretty easy to spot - long and skinny with bright red hair! If the weather is bad we'll have to meet inside where it may be a bit harder to put up any kind of sign so I will also try to put myself somewhere easily visible. The only possible hitch with the indoor scenario is that the Cabbage Patch is 2 pubs in one with separate entrances so you will have to check BOTH sides of the pub. But it's not a massive place so I think we will be okay.

If anyone needs to know anything else drop me an email and I'll get back to you as quick as I can.

"Curse." I think the verb you want is "curse."

Actually, you've reminded me of something.

Heh. Only Stewart has the power to smite. I can run a damn good curse though.

The nutters will be there to guard the flag.....

Or at least a nutter (me) and the SC.netters will be there guarding the flag. (don't want to tar everyone else with the nut brush!)

Fear not young DM your flag is safe with us (promise!)

I'm sure Stewart would let *you* smite for the sake of the flag.

Ahh, but if I go stealing smite from the gods for the Flag, I risk finding myself chained to a mountain with an eagle continually gnawing at my liver. And that can't be fun.

Tee hee.

Promise to stop hijacking your thread now, H.

But a Promethean threadjack is an enjoyable threadjack! Your initiative has unleashed passion and creativity heretofore unknown, close enough to Promethean for me :) !

But then one of us would have to be all Hercules-like and muster the cahones to come and unchain you (we could do it as a team, maybe with some good MacGuyver techniques ... chain the eagle out of liver's way with a chain made of zip ties, or some such thing).

Perhaps it's better to stay away from the smite, 'cuz we're getting pretty far anyway with just your cursing abilities, dammit  .

My turn to apologize for continuing the threadjack.

Aw, Lynne -- I'd thank you and the Tube Sock Army for offering to come save me, but I'd be continuing to hijack Hannah's thread. And I certainly would not want to do that.

So I'll just call this a bump instead. Huh, H? :P
