She's Having a Baby

She's Having a Baby

Going back a few years.....
I just finished watching this movie. It's one of my favorites (I'm a John Hughes junkie) and it's absolutely one of my favorite soundtracks. Ah, the hospital scene with the Kate Bush song brings me to tears every time. I don't have kids, nor will I, but there's something so poignant about that scene with that wonderful song.

Anyway, I tried really hard to pay attention to SC's score, too, and it was really amazing. I loved all the building drums to really crucial moments of the movie. Lots of his other scores get mentioned more frequently, but I enjoy this one because I love the movie so much.

Quick, what was the name SC suggested for the baby?

It's been so long since I've watched that, I don't know either! A good excuse to rent it again!

I like it a lot, too...I absolutely loved it when it came out. I do really like that Kate Bush song too, and come on...you have to cry when you see the blood, and you're not sure what's happened...it's good! And the music is wonderful.

not to go OT and get all morbid here...but i can't watch it w/out crying thinking how lucky i was to have everything go smoothly, every time...you just think of the hell women (and men) go through when it DOESN'T all go well during pregnancy or delivery. It's impossible to imagine.

Ok, all done...
HAPPY now! :D

During the credits, Stewart is one of the people who suggests a name for the baby.

Hey Con,
Do you remember the name he said? I haven't seen the movie in 20 years or so. But I think it's Horatio.

watch the whole movie EQ... it's really funny and touching at the same time. i know... chick flick alert! if you have a kid, and i know you do, you'll appreciate the movie. it's from a man's point of view though, so you shouldn't have a problem.

or, am i totally wrong here, and you've seen it already?

haven't seen it yet. Not really a movie I would consider seeing in a billion years had SC not been involved. But seriously, I'll watch it with an open mind; I've been surprised before.

I LOVE blue crabs. My mother in law went to Maryland recently and brought me back a slew of crabs. (Mrs. EQ used to live in Maryland) They are ok, but you really need to eat them fresh. I am so jealous cuz my sister lives in Maryland and can eat fresh blue crab all the time. Here in the Las Vegas desert, the only good seafood is in the restaurants; none in the grocery stores and NO fish markets.
