Now I think of it, Jonathan turned the wrong way onto the north circular, and we were half way to Essex before he agreed to let me look at the map, and headed for Hampshire. I caught hell when we got back at 2.30am....sweet boy though - imagine putting up with your little sister's mate sobbing through 'Invisible Sun'...and he still speaks to me!

This is hideously OT, but FYI: what you ladies are really going to need are some really good Chocolate Caramel Martinis. (Made with Player's Caramel Vodka, NOT the new Bailey's Caramel stuff.) In truth, it's an absolute sin to call them martinis, but they make for a sinfully heavenly dessert.

A couple of those with some of that cake, and it will *almost* make up for the Post-Police Depression.

Need some advice. How are you all getting to Twickers? I'm staying in Earl's Court right on the Piccadilly and District lines. I see the District will get me to Richmond. Or is there a train I can take? Does anyone have any recommendations?

And, does anyone know anyone who needs a ticket to Sunday's show?
It's a 90 pound ticket for 1/2 face value. It's on Andy's side, section 117 (I think- up close anyway), middle tier. I had a similar seat in Vancouver and it had a great view of the whole stage.

I'm about to become 'twickers public transport nerd', so I'll put something on another thread when I've worked it out. My understanding is that the rail station at twickers is a nightmare - way too small. Probably fine if you're getting there early (and of course you are coming to the pub), but not a good bet for getting back. They run a shuttle bus from/to Richmond, which is probably a better bet. The District Line is the gaping maw of hades as far as I'm concerned (pretty unreliable - and often engineering works at the weekend), but leave it with me - I'll find you some alternatives!

Just so everyone is clear, it is a coffee/cake emporium as a sideline to being a high class sex shop. The colleague who suggested it lives in amsterdam. 'nuff said.

I have alternatives if people think that might be a bit much on a monday afternoon......

In theory Twickenham station should be okay - they are geared up for the regular rugby matches and the hundreds of thousands of people who flock to Twickers for them. You just have to allow a bit of extra time, like smudge said. The bus from Richmond is another option I guess, I have no idea if that would be easier or not. It is walkable from Richmond - about 40 minutes I reckon. Anyone coming from central London would be better off avoiding the District line and getting the fast overland train from waterloo, but from Earls Court it really is unavoidable I'm afraid. And it is poo. There are stations every 100 metres and there are weird kinks and splits in the line that can be hellishly confusing.

Thanks for your transport advice Hannah !
My wife and I will arrive at London Waterloo sunday 9th around 4:30 PM (late, I know, but there were no places left in the previous Eurostars from Paris).
We will take a train from Waterloo to St Margarets (where we've booked a room in a B&B), but we won't be at Twickers before 5:30 PM, so no chances for us to meet up in a pub before the show.

BUT... is there something planned AFTER the show ?
