I would say, many, many men wear shorts. Stewart is the the only straight guy who looks marvelous in green (sometimes SATIN) shorty shorts (and can wear white anytime, even after labor day, even at 55 and look simply stunning)!

Others either go the Richard Simmons route, and feel free to disco out if their sexuality is uncertain, or should stick to cargo kneelengths, for our poor eyes sake.

Stewart's socks have gotten shorter as his shorts have gotten longer.
He's still got those nice legs. They look a zillion miles long in his stage outfits

Well, you know, you feel a tad self-conscious at 55, and probably the cooling systems onstage are much more sophisticated these days. He looks as fresh as a rose when the set ends in the pictures.
Not fried and steamed as he did when the shorts were short
...but jeez, he can wear whatever he wants, whenever he wants. He could have been a model.
To think that he had predicted a pot belly in his future when he was younger!
