Amsterdam Bound...Please Reply...Meow!

But Dive, it's legal there. You know what they say, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do"...

AnyOther, welcome to the board. I, also, worried about posting when I first joined here. Everybody was so close and friendly, I didn't know if I would be accepted. But that closeness is what has kept me coming back to this crazy place.

Aw, mardee, you missed my lame attempt at humor. Doobie a good forum-mate and give me another try...

Dear Dietmar, point well made.

However, I have to say that I started us down that pathetic Beavis joke path, and I definitely don't indulge in that when in A'dam- and it's not some 'say no' thing, but because I just don't enjoy it.
:?

But that doesn't mean it's not punny when the ladies are looking for a joint in A'dam :)

Heh. Yep, didn't mean to imply I'd be loading up on chemicals. I'm going to see our boys and check out the Van Gogh museum, and I'm going to want to remember it later...

Dietmar,

That's the policeman (or is it Nancy Reagan ?) in you. I think everyone here is joking (I am, anyway). It's the uniqueness of the situation that we're having a little fun with. Like Dive said, I'm NOT going to a show impaired. I've waited too long and paid too much to see our magnificent boys do their magic.
Besides, I'd probably get hit with the *random* pee test at work when I got home :? I certainly respect and appreciate your opinions. You're the man, D (after Stewart, that is :D ).

Amy

Sorry to disappoint you all, but Amsterdam's not that weird Dietmar! Although someone mentioned European eccentricities somewhere.

Thanks for making me welcome already, all who did. I'll give proof of my Steweirdness soon.

Can't name the cool places to meet yet, as my little brother is a bit preoccupied with dreaming about a lady he met on holiday. I'll keep reminding him however.

Aw, screw that! No one's endorsing pedophilia, dog-fighting, dwarf-tossing, or Celine Dion music. You're all consenting adults. Be safe, be responsible, and have a good time.

In fact, if every single one of you goes home and DOESN'T suffer from that violent narcotic -- that unspeakable scourge -- that cocktail of sin, degradation, vice, and insanity -- that disease of Reefer Madness, the Real Public Enemy Number One -- then I'm going to be sorely disappointed. And that includes you, Dietmar!

Have a great trip, everyone.

Ahhhhh yes Dietmar. Now I remembered.

But your face beside Stewart's still confusing me.

Well, in looking up who else is playing in town while I'm there (as I always do), I just say that Fiction Plane is playing the Melkweg on Sat. 9/15 with some other bands listed as 'support'...

15 Euro including 'membership' (something the Melkweg charges for some shows)...

I like them in smaller clubs and last time I saw them in such a context (Bowery Ballroom, NYC) it was great! Anyone might be interested?

I'll try to look int places to meet as well over the weekend and post when I can. I made it through the first week of teaching and so, besides feeling completely wiped out, things are at least underway enough for me to think about my alter-ego GinaSuperCat and the alternate universe she inhabits, Copelandia <grin>

I'm thinking something near the venue for the reason that people are going to want to head over to the show at different times (I still need to figure out when the queue up for the field begins and when they open, etc.) but that way it'd be convenient for people to head over as they wish without having to worry about the further step of public transport from the meet-up place to the venue...just an idea...I'll see what I can think up!!

Think you'll be able to text me from Amsterdam to let me know that FP is playing YET AGAIN, SuperCat? I just don't think they can finish a set w/o one of us doing that.

heee!

Just so you know, DM...I sent her the link to the outfit that sells international SIM cards...so you ought to be set up. ;)

GSC, sorry I've been out of it this week - finally got DSL out in the woods, so I'll get on the ball shortly. I'll dig in my tourguide as well.
