Browsed this forum for about half a year and even subscripted but didn't have the guts to post, as you all seem such a really close group of friends and it felt like an intrusion of some kind.

Then a flag-bearer for Amsterdam was wanted and I thought: this is something I could do to make a contribution. However my seat's too far away from the stage for the flag to be noticed.

I will be there however, the first night with my younger brother (who I brainwashed into the Police when he was 2), the second by myself.

I'll be in Amsterdam on Saturday as well, so I'd like to join all of you. I could ask my brother, who lives in Amsterdam, where there's a good place to celebrate.

At this point, since I have to meet with someone about a possible academic position opening up here here tomorrow (no sleep tonight) and have to start teaching Monday, to say that I am currently out of my mind is an understatement.
