You THINK you just survived a tornado?

First, glad to hear you guys are okay. Second, isn't this a really really good reason to go on a little trip and relax?
Smart aleck  . Yep, meteorologist on the radio confirmed that it was a tornado. Yeah, I could use a vacation! But first, gotta go out and shift some downed branches.

Sounds like you must have had a tor-nyeh-do, an ambivalent tornado.

Hope the mess isn't too bad. Now go get yourself some vacation, young lady.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Lynne, Glad you made it through the tornado safely. They are scary. Living in the midwest, I've been through a few and seeing the air green outside is just not right. Copeland_girl5, don't worry, we'll be here when you get back. Have a good time & enjoy yourself.

So glad you're okay, Lynne. We had a freak tornado hit here last summer and I'll never forget how frightening it was. I hope you won't really be forced to change your vacation plans...I know you've looked forward to it.

Copeland_girl5, enjoy your trip! It's good to recharge your battery, especially before starting a new job! (We'll talk slowly when you get back! )

Have a blast in Maine. We just back from there and New Hampshire. We stayed in the southern part of Maine, York Beach and Wells. The people were great and the weather (not tough to beat AZ in the summer) was nice. I will definitely be going back someday. Have fun.

Lynne, glad to hear your doing ok. Being from Illinois originally, I remember those days. Stay safe.

Thanks to everyone for all of your kind wishes! Our power is still out and we have water in the basement, but we have no material property damage. Most of our neighbors do, though, and 3/4 of the 100-year-old trees that line our gorgeous little street are down (in peoples' cars and garages, unfortunately).

Here are a couple of pics of the damage on my street (none of the cars is mine, fortunately):

A house at the end of our street caught fire and will probably have to be demolished.

So the fact that we have to delay our vacation one day is small potatoes compared to all of this  .

Lynne, I am glad you are ok. Those pictures remind me of Vancouver last December.

Have a great vacation!
