Rough guitar demos on my myspace.

Postby Franco on 20 Aug 2007 00:21

I've put down some rough guitar tracks from my latest project I'm working on, on my mspace page;

http://www.myspace.com/frankhonnor1

They're only 1st draughts and I've tried to 'Policfy' a couple of em! They're not spot on perfect but should be good enough for people to hear some of the styles I play/write in.

Would appreciate any feedback on em, if anyone listens to em. Be as brutal or kind as you like.

The project is meant to be an acoustic one but might be changing that now. :? Had some a few spare hours this weekend and had some fun with the electric so thought I'd put em down.

Lyrics in progress/to follow and later on might re record and add some b-lines, solos etc, if I don't go for the acoustic thing. More songs in progress/to follow. I hope to get the project finished by Xmas.

I hope a few of you guys listen to em and reply.

Cheers mates,

Franco. 8)

Hey Franco,

There is good stuff there, you have to work a little bit on the edges, but there definitely is potential :D

Cool !

Great to hear your idea's.

Now I can see where you are coming from. I would like to hear you doing one of those on an acoustic guitar with maybe a little if the "mutted elec riff" in the background. Cool idea's.

keep building on it.

Hopefully we can listen as we evolve, help it along.

I will listen more later....Cheers.

Thanks for puttin it up.

Thanks for sharing these, Franco. I too think an acoustic variation would be really interesting.

As a complete aside, BBoy -- love the new avatar. Nice tee, and it looks like you're being attacked by giant octobans.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Thanks guys for all the comments. I really appreciate every word.

They're all bit rough round the edges but don't have too much time at the moment being a parent and doing our house up (about 1/2 way through and done loads!)

Thanks Kalypso, English Rose (r u a Jam fan by anychance?), BB and Dirty Martini (great name) for having a listen. :D

They're written as acoustic songs anyway so will be definately doing that and none of em are finished yet. Working on a couple of others too and lyrics in progress for some. The titles are temporary also (did anyone spot 'Summers' night)

The edgyness will go when they're finished. I will get em as perfect as I can and they should all sound tickady boo! Will alter tempos as well etc. Appreciate the honesty Kalypso. Your a cool customer. 8)

Love the new avatar BB. Worked and fitted loads of 'octabans' like that before but they usually take away human mess! You can actually get a length, cut it up into different sizes, stack em up add metal/plastic drum containers, pieces of wood and plate, scaffold poles etc and make a pretty good drum kit out of site materials while cutting up some 1/2" copper tube as sticks. Believe me I've tried.

Thanks again,

Franco.

Cool Franco !

Myspace is all good to go with you.

You songs would/will sound much different without that electric/Andy style stuccado picking...be a great backing track (IMO) I look forward to it. I know it takes a lot of time...with life n all !

Yea...the tubes...a big percusscian rig !

I stayed a bit back from them as for....the sewage possibility factor?

Yikes!

Cheers. (PS. when I mention stuff about your songs, I am NOT telling you what to do...just like talking songwriting over pints kinda vibe...I knew ya knew, but sometimes typing sounds bossy.)

I hear you mate all the way.

Dont worry you're not being bossy man. I write most of my stuff on the acoustic so i'll get em sorted mate. They're meant to be acoustic but I tried to Policify a couple of em.

I'm not getting picked for my cricket team on Sunday's anymore cos I can't go to practice cos my mrs had gotta new job so should have more time now to do more recording and might have a go this Sunday.

I like talking about songs too. I like your track 4 my space and the other 2. It sounds kinda like it comes of Jagged Little Pill which was/is a cool album for its time.

Its great to listen to someone else on the other side of the Atlantic, who plays all the instruments and writes his own songs.

Your cool dude man. Keep it real homeboy.

Franco.

PS Tried sending you a message on my space but I think it didn't work. Just basically trying to say that me and my mrs and kid are fed up with England (long story the country's on a downward slope) and we've been thinking of checking out Canada as a place to emmigrate (wont be for a few of years). My uncle lives in Toronto and have 3 1st cousins somewhere in Toronto and my grandfather was born in Moosejaw. With being a plumber also I should pretty much qualify for emmigration so hopefully soon will check it out for a holiday or something. Will have to meet up if we can get over for a hol but wont be for a year or so.
