To Mods or anybody who knows:

My profile is connected to an inactive address. I would like to change it but it does not seem possible, unless I create an entirely new profile. This seems a bit time consuming and inconvenient.

Is there a quicker way to modify your email address in your profile?

You can change your email address through your profile, you have to enter your password for it to take effect if I remember correctly.

But be aware it locks you out until the guys have chance make sure everything is kosher. Usually a follow up email to Eugenio can speed things along.
