I was surprised that no one that picked it up at the MSG shows has posted a review yet. I will be picking mine up during lunch and will let you know my impressions tonight after listening it for a day.

I couldn't get it today. I went to Best Buy at lunch (the only music store in my town) and the clerk looked it up for me. He said they had one (1!!) on order but they didn't get it because their warehouse didn't get any. So no BB in the area got the CD, he added.

Crud. I'm sure I won't be one of the first 100 in line.

I checked several stores in Northern Virginia today and no one had it in stock. I'm just gonna order mine on the internet although I will probably buy a few extra if I see them in store as I can see this release being a lot like the Klark Kent Kollected release if it is going to be this difficult to find.

Good call, conroy. I might stock up a bit myself. I tried my local Borders today and no dice; their computer didn't even have the cover info and release date yet! :twisted:

Guess I'll just order on-line too...no wonder brick and mortar music stores are dying, I always have the worst time finding the albums I want, unless they happen to be Top 40 mega-releases... :roll:

By the way, the store I found it at was FYE. As mentioned, it was $20.46. The girl at the register said I could get 10% off if I got the FYE discount card. The catch was that the card cost $25!!

Well, I just ordered it on Deepdiscount.com for $13.79 which includes free shipping. Their shipping can be a tad slow but at this point, I'm too frustrated from burning my lunch hour today and stopping at every opportunity on the way home from work looking today to care how fast I get it in my hands anymore.

After reading how difficult a time you guys are having trying to find it in stores I just went ahead and ordered it from amazon.com. It's $13.97 + $2.98 s&h...I should have it by...

Ordered mine Saturday on amazon, and what was waiting for me when I got home today. You guessed it.

Importing into itunes now to transfer to ipod.

Maybe this is better than nothing for all the frustrated fans. The following are Stewart's comments regarding some of the tracks:

Too Kool to Kalypso: Klark Kent, the one-man band. After the sudden unexpected success of "Don't Care" in the English Pop charts, "Too Kool" was his first flop. Still my favorite track. Who needs a brass section when you can play a kazoo?

Don't Box Me In: Francis Ford Coppola set me off on a whole new career as a film composer. Since I didn't know how to do it, I had to reinvent the wheel. Its amazing what you can do if you don't know how. This song was written, recorded and mixed in one wild day in a studio with Stan Ridgeway, That's him on Harmonica and vocals with me on guitar, bass and drums.

Taxi Ride Home: From the score of a film about my hometown during the civil war. Ziad Doueiri was the director. It was very emotional to watch the film at the Beruit Film Festival surrounded by the people who lived the story that I had scored. John Bilezikijian played violin and oud. Piano is becoming my weapon of choice. All of the many piano parts on this CD are performed by my computer. Although I can fake it on almost any stringed instrument, I did not get the gift of keyboards. My fingers just can't do what my brain can do, so I play each note into the box -- verrrry slowly -- and the box plays it perfectly.

Wield the Spade: Aah. . . Oysterhead, the negation of everything I ever learned about professional music. Les Claypool and Trey Anastasio have un-taught me everything I know. First there was the jam, then the lyric was strapped on and then the crazy stuff began. . .

Rain: This was for the videogame, "Spyro". These were very shallow compositions-- I would write three of them in a day -- but the tunes keep coming back as favourites of mine. Somehow when you get into the groove and work fast without having to deal with dialogue, plot or lyrics, the music flows like a torrent.

I won't provide any more of the liner notes as I am a bit concerned about the Kosherocity of doing so. I feel justified in giving the bit that I did here as (1) I am CERTAIN everyone here is going to get this disc (2) the only reason everyone here does not have it is due to the short supply and (3) these tidbits will not convince anyone they do not need to buy the disc themselves not because I gave the text of the liner notes of 5 of the 21 tracks but will instead likely encourage people to buy the CD now that they can see how interesting the notes are.

With that said, it ANYONE thinks I should not have done this, I will LueAnn (i.e., ~~~~~) this entry upon my seeing the objection.

Having said that, now I'm dying to listen to Da Rest!

Might as well knuckle down and order online. I was hoping to see this go thru, but so far its sounding like the retail support isn't there. %#&#!! Walmart doesnt even offer any Stewart discs online, and its my only local retailer, so no use checking there. They had Andy's reissue on their site the day it came out! Yeah, guess i'll stock up on a few myself.
