Gigasize is a bit hard to navigate. Enter the three letter code at the top of the page. Then you'll be taken to a page full of ads. Kill it. The next page has a small green button in the upper right that says "DOWNLOAD." Click it.

Your browser ought to launch its download function and ask you for a place to save the file. Good luck!

Belatedly, many, many thanks for this. Takes the sting out of my green vinyl and other KK somehow disappearing when I was in college; I think a miscreant ex-boyfriend might be to blame ... and I've been loathe to spend the $$ for the secondhand CD.

brian james.... was in the Damned (1st two albums only) and then a succession of dodgy post-punk bands..... stewart played on a single "Ain't that a shame" which came out in 1979, i've got the 7" but haven't listened to it for years, can't remember what it's like, no doubt the drumming's ace, but as for the rest............. but i gather from what my new best friend secretjourneyranch says that there's more stuff out there......

Brian and Stewart recorded in 1978 (not '79 as I said above) at the same time the Police were recording at Surrey Sound. So its really great to hear the same drum set you hear on all the classics from Outlandos. I'm going to upload 2 songs from this session since I really don't think you can buy them. "Why Why Why" and "Where Did I Find A Girl Like You" are the names if anybody wants to research there availability. I'm not sure they were ever available for sale?...they are from my vinyl copy transferred to WAV>MP3(320K)...

Thanks so much for sharing these! I haven't had a turntable for a LONG time, and my KK album is up in WI anyhow. I'd forgotten how hilarious (and catchy!) these songs were! This will tide me over until my copy of the Anthology shows up from Amazon!

Tears of joy, bless you for these. I've been patiently waiting for a post like this. Been looking for the KK stuff for a long time and I'm not one to make askor make requests, so it's Christmas in Jul..er...August for me today. And well worth the time it takes me to download on my dial-up connection. Yes, I know, dial-up. I'm probably the last person in North America still on dial-up.

i work in leatherhead which is where Surrey Sound used to be.

i say 'used to be' because now it is a keep-fit gym for women called 'Curves'....... talk about sacrilege
i was chased from the premises when i was about 10 in the mid-80's, but went in there recently with a female friend (she feigned interest so i could get in there) and there was (unsurprisingly) nothing left of the studio; except the slanted ceiling which I remember Our Hero talking about; saying that they moved the kit around in the room to change the depth and response of the drums..............

(for the record - har har - Sun Studios is still very much open and folks still record in there. You can also take a tour...it's relatively unchanged. So is RCA's Studio B here in Nashville, where a lot of the old stuff was recorded.)

sjr, I'd loooove a copy of those Brian James sets as I'm a pretty big Damned fan. (Going to see the Fleshtones open for the Hoodoo Gurus in Hoboken next month, speaking of powerful 80s rockers...)

I love LPs and still have all mine as well as my brother's from back in the day. My other brother actually gave me his old turntable a couple years ago, which still works great. I had to buy a preamp to hook it up to my sound system and that was the most exciting moment for me. That was what I did when I was a kid. I came home from school every day, locked myself in my room and played my records. So, you can imagine how nostalgic it must have been when I first hooked up that turntable, sat on the floor of my living room and broke out all the old LPs I haven't listened to in years. And just this January, I found KK on ebay and bought it for about $12. This was before the reunion announcement of the millenium. I feel so lucky to have found it and was overjoyed when it arrived on my doorstep--in perfect condition I might add. I had to relay this as I think I'm fortunate to have found it at such a good price before all this reunion hoopla happened.

Smax, what a great story. And Dive, I would so love to take a tour of Sun studios. Have you ever done so?
