Where the hell is Stewart?

Where the hell is Stewart?

You'd think the website that bears his name would warrant some of his time and attention. Best I can figure, the last time SC posted a response to the forum was May 05.
That's weak. Nobody's that busy.

May 05? :!:
You should pay more attention, JL! STEWART's last response to the forum is in the topic "Two of us" and dates back to March 01 2006, just a few days ago! Not to mention STEWART's own topic "An apology" posted in on February 25 2006 :!:

yes, definitely.

i was dismayed when i first came here that stew never seemed to visit his own message board. i was delighted to see him recently begin posting semi-regularly and acknowledging the reason: he enjoys the instant feedback on matters that concern him.

OK, I may not have been technically correct. But the point remains that SC doesn't engage his fans via his website like he should. Without his input and response, we just look like a bunch of sychophants, idolizing an absentee idol.
Wow, two posts in the last several weeks? Pardon me if I'm underwhelmed.

Mmmmm

I never see Stewart Copeland as an abbsence idol, because I am in touch with his artist essence through his music all the time.

I also like Hemman Hesse a German/Swiss writer, but he is already death, and I still feel in touch with him through his books. (Also with John Rawls, Carlos Castaneda, John Stuart Mills, etc, cause I love to read).

I think this forum function is to talk about Stewart's music, film or whatever he does, with other fans, and the time he comes to leave us a message here, is really nice, but it doesn't matter to much for me, if is just once in a while. I understand the creation works take to much time in a deeply sense.

Also he is in touch with his fans via the music and also the videos on multimedia section.

We can find here that Stewart also wrote about Gizmo and Foo Fighter experience.

I think the best way to continue getting in touch with his fans is continue making music, concerts, and films, to expanding all his art.

I have a doubt for you JC:

What you mean with underwhelmed?

He's around, he pops in now and again. Although when I log in, and I see him on, I usually close the page, otherwise he does.

Stewart, click the log out button, that way you can look around, but we won't know. Then when you want to respond, just sign in.

Hey at least he visits once in a while and posts blogs. You can't complain - he's a busy guy!

Sting NEVER says anything on his site. I've read that he does not use the internet, which is fine, but you'd think he'd dictate a short note once in a while to be posted, to keep us hooked. Like thanks for spending $45 bucks on a membership for nothing. OK, let's not go there.

Dominic Miller is very nice though. He posts notes and sends out e-mails to members of his FREE site.

I sent Dominic a question, and he replied back the next day, I was suprised.

If Stew replied more often, I think I'd lose intrest.

Dosen't Sting have enough money? Can you ever have enough money?

Don't start! After all the $$$$$$$ I've spent on Sting over the years I should get a complimentary membership for life. The site is an advertisement for all his goodies, that I'm a sucker for. That's where he should be making his $, not from fan club member fees. If it was a $10 administrative fee I would be OK with that, as Dave, Wendy & Tina deserve to be paid for their time, but I think $45 is a bit much.

Stewart presence

Postby giovanni on 16 Mar 2006 12:17

I'm sorry for your 'lack-of-Stewart-presence' feeling, but I would sincerely count how many official sites got their featured artist involved in discussions on the forum....not too many I would say.

Let's all enjoy Stewart presence when he pops in and consider ourself lucky enough as I can tell that most of us have never had any chance to get close to Stewart, if not through this forum, and that means something.

I would also consider the fact that Stewart got us all involved in deciding which title to give to his forthcoming Police movie/dvd, and that's even more that simply taking part on the forum discussions.

This is my personal opinion.
I hope you enjoy the threads.

JL and Everyone else,
There was a time when there was no internet and therefore no one could interact with their favorite musician at all. Just because the internet is here now, doesn't mean that the subjects of the fan sites have to interact with anyone on them, either. There are a lot of Stewart Copeland fan sites and he probably doesn't interact with anyone on those, so why should he do it on this one? And even if he does consider this his official website, that still doesn't mean he has to log on and converse with people. This site, as all websites are, is a privilege - not a guarantee that you'll be able to chat with Stewart. Get out of this web-world mentality and leave the man alone.[/b]
