You could drive through Joshua Tree on the way down and make a day out of it. I did it once when I went out to visit my old boss who moved to Las Vegas when he retired. You could have dinner at the Backstage Cafe! That's what I did. Unfortunately, Ian wasn't there the time I did it. I think he was at Stewart's place with the Dares.

STEWART....come on, no appearance in NYC? It's the end of this leg of the tour...surely you can hang around another day. There is a Borders store right IN FRONT of MSG. Really, it's right THERE...and conveniently located near my office for a quick run at lunch time
