OT: Philly show last week

Here's the story...

Just passing by the WMMR broadcast tent outside CBP. Pierre Robert was just about to leave. Shook Hands with him. Told him about SC.net and could he give a shout out. He said email him.

Crafted the email below and sent on Monday.

Pierre,

It's was great meeting you briefly at the end of the night.

Please could you play anything by The Police and could you give a shout out to The Tube Sock Army from Stewart Copeland.net (Stewart's website) from Animal.

Thanks

Keep on rocking..

Thought no more about it.

Today I had internet issues getting my email...

I eventually got this at about 4pm...

Dear Citizen,

Recently you sent me an e-mail requesting a block of The
Police. As fate would have it, I'm going to play your block today and
send it out to you! I'm not sure if you will be near a radio, but
hopefully this little announcement I'm sending you over the 'fancy
thinkin' box' (the computer) will alert you and help you catch your
tunes. Thanks for writing and requesting a work force block and I hope
you're having a happy day!

Cheers,

Pierre

Sorry guys. I didn't even have the radio on. So I couldn't post a heads up.

Ugh! I hate a story with an almost O. Henry-ish twist like that!!!! that's still cool that he did it though!

Aw, too bad Animal! But Pierre's a great guy. We passed by his tent on the way out, too, and vespapod wanted to linger to try to get an sc.net shoutout on air mom and I were too tired.

WMMR really went above and beyond on the Police coverage. vespapod will tell you, that was about all Pierre talked about the next day on his broadcast.

He's a cool dude. Best hair in the industry as well -- enough to make any gal exceedingly envious.

I'll try again, just before the November show. Maybe some of us will hear it.

He was very cool, just hanging and chatting with passers by.

I have my sucky pictures from the show. I'll post sometime over the weekend.

The group shot with the flag is so so, as sockii you head is cutoff

That's the funny thing Conroy, Sockii was crouching below the flag so you just that top part of her head & no tube socks.

Like I said sucky pictures.

Yeah, for some reason, it makes me think of the cool King Tut exhibit we saw the next day!.

And I guess this means I must wear the tube socks again for the MSG show on 8/1. I'm a little leery of wearing them on the train ride up, but I guess I just won't hike them up all the way until I get to Hooligans.

Thanks for the pics, Animal! If not for sockii's half-cranium, that's a cute group shot!

Are you sure? Is that one of the times where he was following the arrows?

DM,

Yep from what I saw and the reaction, he looked down ponted. then pointed out to the left.

I honestly believe he followed the signs.

Thanks, sweetie. One time he bounced from arrow to arrow, the other time he scanned -- just wanted to make sure that that pic was indeed one of those moments. Good job!

You all look great! Even the top part of sockii, using my imagination from her wonderful Leroy Coolbreeze shirt pic of earlier today.

One thing I like about the flag point picture is that you've caught Stewart in a bit of a fencing lunge, emphasized by the fact that he insists on wearing those white pants!
