New Intro Song Needed

New Intro Song Needed

Postby JL on 27 Jul 2007 00:08

I like Marley, but its time to switch out 'Get up stand up' as the intro song for the band on the tour.

To reflect Stewart's irreverent sense of humor (and Sting's sense of irony), I nominate NWA's 'Fuck the Police'. That would be Hilarious!
"I don't need to fight to prove I'm right!
I don't need to be forgiven!"

What did they have now, a siren sound??? Maybe a gentle lute chord would be more appropriate?

I remember Bowie in the Glass Spider Tour in 1987...I heard so much of Jackson Browne's Stay (in 1 concert!) that I still get sick to my stomach when I hear it....

I think it's good that they're keeping it consistent, people know when to get the hell to their seats.

I think "Get Up, Stand Up" is the perfect song, considering the Police owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Marley--and they'd be the first to acknowledge that! Jah Rastafari!! 8) 8) 8)

I love the "Get Up, Stand Up." I can't think of a better song to get people on their feet and ready.

I do like the Marley.

For an alternate, maybe James Brown's "Sex Machine?"

"Get up! Get on up!"

Not Police related, but I went to see Perry Farrell's Porno 4 Pyros in 1994 and they had Miles Davis "Sketches of Spain" on for like a half an hour before they went on. That was pure class and really set the theatrical atmosphere for what Perry does! He was very nice back stage. A true gentleman and a kind spirit.
