vespapod had a potentially good idea last night - if folks want a "memento" of the flag after the tour, maybe we could get nice photo/art-prints done up of the flag (both front and back), available for anyone who makes a sponsorship donation of a certain amount?

Heh. Moeskido wants an SCnet lapel pin.

But before we start getting too merch-y, let's get over this first hurdle first.

Please do keep on talking, folks. Either way, I'm going to bump this thread just for a couple of days in case Stewart may have missed it, then I'll contact Gio in case of any objections/concerns/comments/whatever. At which point, we can proceed.

You people rock, btw.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

The folks I've told about this fanflag thing have thought it was a great idea just that alone, AND were blown away that The Copeland Himself would take wee bit to reply(I always knew HE was the awesome one of the three...). I am going to see if I can't swing the most recently announced Philly show-but sure was hoping for a D.c./ No. VA gig. I it hits, I'd love to fly the flag @ that show.
How would a non-credit card person participate in the Flag Charity? Is there a PayPal link? I've never shopped over the Web.

Ok, I could read all the thoughts and, as alredy said by DM, we talked about this before posting the flag-charity thread.

I gave my 'sort of' blessing of this idea as I guess it's all up to us, but by the way, who am I to say 'yes' or 'no' to such a good act? I thank again DM for the idea and for asking me first, that's a very responsible and respectful act of behaviour; we all know 'charities' sometimes may be seen with a double-face coin.

It's plain to see this is a very honest and genuine act. We keep on being a good number of positive-thinking group of people and I'm very proud of this.
I haven't personally talked to Stewart about that yet, but I'm pretty sure there is nothing wrong with it.

This is a great idea! My father had cancer so it is a cause near to me. You have my support & I agree that using PayPal may be the easiest.

You guys rock. I'm in.

Lots of people gave to Live 4 Life after Ian's death, including me, so what about a Veterans' organization this time? Just a thought, since Ian was a veteran and a lot of the guys coming home from Iraq now really need help. They are getting the shaft from the government again, just as the Vietnam vets got when they came home from an unpopular war. Of course I have no idea what organization to give to, but it's just an idea. Whatever Stewart wants is OK with me. We could also ask Ian's daughters.

I like your idea as well, Kim. I'm good either way, or even as was originally suggested, of people donating to a charity of their choice in Ian's name (though I do think it would be good to have one or at most two "recommended" charities chosen for main focus...)
